Mark Zuckerberg Hires Hillary Clinton Campaign Consultant Joel Benenson

Don’t let him fool you. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has political aspirations, deep, deep down at least. Why else would he hire “Democratic pollster Joel Benenson, a former top adviser to President Barack Obama and the chief strategist to Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign”?

According to the report, the Benenson Strategy Group will be “conducting research for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the couple’s philanthropy.”

Benenson isn’t the first political figure the power couple has brought on. They’ve hired Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe as well as Sen. Tim Kaine’s former communications director Amy Dudley.

Benenson’s involvement in the group gives them access to someone who was one of the top lieutenants of Clinton’s doomed campaign and Obama’s longtime pollster, just as speculation about Zuckerberg’s political ambitions is mounting.

 

Benenson did not respond to a request for comment. A spokeswoman for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative said: “As a philanthropic organization focused on a number of substantive issues including science, education, housing, and criminal justice reform, any research efforts we undertake is to support that work.”

Zuckerberg insists he’s not interested in running for president, but it’s really hard to believe when he’s surrounding himself with these people and attempting to visit every U.S. state and pulling weird political-like publicity stunts. I can’t wait until he admits he’s interested in running and starts peddling his “open borders” platform. I personally think he should make the giant wall surrounding his mansion the backdrop in his first campaign video.

Call me for tips, Zuckerberg. There’s more where that came from.
