I know exactly what you need today. A Lena Dunham story! Sit down kids, this one’s a doozy! (Don’t worry. No nude pictures are involved. PRAISE BE.)
You see, Wednesday (and early Thursday) was the worst day evaaaaa for poor, perpetually oppressed Lena Dunham. She was stuck at an airport for hours, dealing with a delayed flight and annoying people (other than herself). She documented her experience on Twitter, which is SO WEIRD. I thought she gave up Twitter because it was no longer a safe space.
“I’ve been fairly public about that fact that I no longer check my own Twitter,” she once stated. “I found that the hostility, particularly the hostility towards women and the expressions of violence were too much.”
That was short-lived.

If you wanna know somebody’s truth, watch them reckon with a flight that’s been delayed 4 hours.

She also let everyone know that she remained extremely polite. She’s a good person. Let the record reflect.
My airport behavior, I must concede, has been outwardly polite but extremely self-destructive (food wise)

Y’all I have some time and an open ❤️- answering (polite) questions for the next 5 mins

Warning: close-up selfie coming up.
Time has stopped at airport. Man is viciously gnawing fruits snacks after calling the gate attendant a bitch. Lord of the FLIGHTS get it!? pic.twitter.com/9nXAuiqdsR

To the woman who just yelled “I hate this plane and I have to shit!” I worship and fear you

The flight attendant admonished me for having a wrinkled boarding pass and I apologized. I need to go back to Alanon so bad #sorryallthetime
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) August 3, 2017
Remember that one time Lena wrote a lengthy essay on how women need to stop saying, “I’m sorry” all the time? Good times.
Y’all, they let us board the plane, we waited an hour then they asked us to get off. The vibe is very Les Mis RN.
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) August 3, 2017
So Lena was having a crappy night but remaining SUPER polite. She’s totally not going to complain about the airline delay, because she’s not that kind of person. But she IS going to call out airline employees for disagreeing with her!
Not gonna call out the airline who delayed cuz shit happens BUT I did just overhear 2 @AmericanAir attendants having a transphobic talk.
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) August 3, 2017
See what she did there? She’s turning her OMG SO HORRIBLE day into an opportunity to accuse people of being bigots. It’s her hobby, and she’s a pro. She’s on victim-patrol 24/7. She’s ALWAYS ready to be offended by something.
At this moment in history we should be teaching our employees about love and inclusivity @AmericanAir. That was worst part of this night.
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) August 3, 2017
Don’t feel bad for her flight situation. Feel bad that the world is such a terrible place peppered with so many TRANSPHOBIC PEOPLE!
That being said, Lena decided to issue a report. She alerted her Twitter followers of her move, which proved she wasn’t genuinely concerned. This was a prime opportunity to shamelessly virtue signal. That’s what this was about.
Well this night just keeps evolving pic.twitter.com/gYfXadYBUH

Actually, “trans” is a trend right now. Some people genuinely suffer from gender dysphoria, yes. But it’s ABSOLUTELY a trend right now. Society is all about it. It’s cool and hip and awesome. Trans anything is the gluten free bread of mental disorders. It’s cool and popular. Don’t even try to deny it.
That point aside, who knows if she’s even telling the truth. Lena has a history of exaggerating, and she’s constantly triggered by everything.

Wonderful! Lena Dunham tried to get two employees in trouble for disagreeing with the trans trend. She’s a good person. She stood up for the helpless. YOU’RE WELCOME WORLD.
For those who followed my airport saga yesterday, here’s my takeaway: these days it’s the little things. A smile. Offering a seat. Respect.

We can’t afford to treat each other like cattle when we have a government that does. Being trapped at the airport filled me with love!
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) August 3, 2017
You hear that? The government is treating Lena like cattle. Which basically means she feels like a cow. I am not going to argue against that.
The entire tweetstorm was Lena’s way of virtue-signaling. She’s a good person who remained super perky at the airport. The only thing that disappoints her are HATEFUL BIGOTS who disagree with her “everything is OK and everything should be celebrated!” mantra. She selflessly stood up for the trans community, even though she was in a crappy predicament. Maybe one day you can be as selfless and compassionate as Lena too.
