July 26, 2017On Wednesday morning, President Trump tweeted out what I’m sure will go down as one of his most controversial tweets of all time. He said after consulting with his Generals and military experts, the US government will no longer allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the US military.

Gotta love how he added “thank you” to the end of that big announcement.
Here’s the full statement:
“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you,” Trump said.
He’s right about the excessive costs and access to services. Plus it causes a TON of disruption in military units. It forces the military to worry about stupid rules and guidelines instead of the important stuff like– you know– winning. (Example: Female soldiers shouldn’t have to worry about showering with men who are transitioning.) The bottom line? The military isn’t a social experiment. You want to be in the military? Don’t expect special treatment. That’s all I’m going to say about this.
