CNN’s Chris Cillizza Is Mad That Trump Won’t Say ‘Russia Hacked The Election’

In a month that’s seen CNN get called out for shamelessly pimping out the Russia “nothing burger” story for ratings – not to mention the ongoing #CNNBlackmail scandal that’s still blowing up in the network’s face (and gloriously so) – perhaps it’s best if anyone working at the Fake News Network ban the name “Russia” from their vocabulary for a while. You know, at least until they’ve all managed to stop tripping over their own clown shoes with their narratives.

But where would the fun be in that?

According to this, CNN’s Chris Cillizza decided to poke at President Trump’s press conference in Poland this morning, where the president was asked about Russia interfering in the 2016 election (of course he was) and he said the following –

“I think it was Russia but I think it was probably other people and or countries. I see nothing wrong with that statement….I remember when I was sitting back listening about Iraq, weapons of mass destruction, how everybody was 100% certain that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. Guess what? That led to one big mess. They were wrong and it led to a mess.”

To which Chris oh-so-helpfully replied –

If you are a Republican elected official waking up to Trump’s unwillingness to say Russia hacked the election, better to go back to bed.

Has ANYONE apprised Chris of the fact that Russia has become a punchline these days? That there is very little evidence that they “hacked” the election? I mean, CNN could track down some random nobody who made a gif and posted it on a message board, sure. But they still can’t find undeniable proof that shady Russian operative were changing electronic votes from Hillary to Trump.

Yes, Russia meddled in the election. Hackers did get access to DNC and Clinton campaign email servers because John Podesta’s email security habits are the same as my eighty-year-old grandmother’s (love you Grandma, but you’re not in charge of a major presidential campaign). And those hackers did provide embarrassing and damning information to WikiLeaks about the DNC and Hillary Clinton that influenced people’s opinions as to who they were going to vote for.

But to say “Russia hacked the election” is downright false and stupid. And people are right to call Chris out on his idiocy.
