I have to wonder – if this chick is so mad about having to pay for men’s healthcare, why is she so upset at Republicans right now? After all, their current proposed plan includes not forcing people to pay for medical care that they have no use for –
If men don’t have to pay for prenatal care I don’t have to pay for all the dumb shit men do to themselves https://t.co/0NcK0FcPF0

Dear Jaya Saxena – You will absolutely hate me for saying this (if your very next tweet is anything to go by), but – Welcome to conservatism!

Because that’s EXACTLY what conservatives have been saying about healthcare (and specifically Obamacare) for YEARS now. I’m soooo glad you’re FINALLY understanding how this works! You don’t want to pay for men’s healthcare? GREAT! We want to make it so you don’t have to!
See, when people earn money, they would much rather spend it on things they want to spend it on. They don’t appreciate the government swooping in and telling them that they have to fork over their money so other people can use it for heaven-only-knows-what. To quote a Chicks classic – “This my money. It’s not yours.”
Mr. CJ and I recently had this discussion, what with it being tax season and all. And since we’re expecting a baby this summer, we’ll get to claim deductions next year, which is pretty exciting. Our exact words were “I’d rather spend the money on Tiny.”
(Just for the record, I can pay for my own prenatal care, thanks.)
And that is true. Even if the money goes to something like buying diapers, at least that’s something that we benefit directly from. We know it’s not going to some freakshow’s cosmetic surgery or to Planned Parenthood so they can provide more abortions. We earned it for our family, and that’s where we want it to go.
Jaya might not like that she’s suddenly stumbled upon a core tenant of conservatism and basically endorsed it, but it doesn’t change the fact that’s exactly what she just did.
