President Trump Expected To Revoke The Transgender Bathroom Directive Issued By The Obama Administration

Last year, the Obama administration issued a directive, essentially instructing public schools to allow students to use bathrooms and/or locker rooms that align with his/her gender identity.

If you think this is an idiotic idea and none of the federal government’s business, congratulations. You’re a reasonable human being.

At the time, (former) White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told everyone to view the directive as a friendly “guide.” Of course, if schools/states failed to follow this guide, they could lose federal aid and be sued. But other than that, it’s a guide. A suggestion, really.

While it wasn’t an official mandate, it was a mandate. The directive was and is overreaching and ridiculous. As I wrote before, the Obama administration was messing with childhood development.

I know I’m stating the obvious here, but kids are just that. Kids. They’re still developing. Their brains are still wiring things together. They’re figuring stuff out. They’re experiencing an excess of emotions and figuring out how the world works. Kids get strange ideas. Heck, if kids consistently exercised logic and reason– if they already had everything all figured out– they wouldn’t need parents. That’s what parents are for. To guide them. To steer them straight. To pound out the kooky ideas and lead them on the right path. By reinforcing this idea that “you can be the wrong gender altogether OMG,” society is hijacking the natural development process.

You’ll be pleased to know that I still agree with myself.

In response, 13 states sued the Obama administration, and a federal judge blocked the order.

That’s not all. According to this, the Trump administration is expected to revoke the federal guidelines completely. This will crush Obama, especially since he’s convinced himself that God approves of the order.

“I would expect further guidance to come out on that today,”  Sean Spicer said Wednesday.

There were rumors floating around that Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos were fighting over this move, but Spicer denied those claims.

“There is no daylight between anybody, between the president, between any of the secretaries,” Spicer said, addressing the rumors that DeVos opposed revoking the directive.

Nothing is official yet, but stay tuned. I hope the Trump administration follows through. This is a state issue, plain and simple.
