I have said this so many times that I’ve lost track. Feminists make NO SENSE AT ALL.
The latest big “female empowerment” move? Bleeding through your yoga pants while on your period. Because… being hygienic during your period is somehow shameful?
Again, feminism, zero sense, welcome to it.
According to that sourcelink, a yoga instructor named Steph Gongora posted a video to her Instagram page of herself in white yoga pants with a great big red spot on her crotch and a tirade about “HEY, I’M ON MY PERIOD! I’M EMPOWERED! (also starved for attention) LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”
Here’s the post. You’ve been warned –
You know what else is natural? Peeing and pooping. Why should we feel shame about these natural bodily functions? Why run to the restroom every time nature calls? Let’s just pee and poop our pants and parade around proudly that we are humans and humans sometimes do gross things and why be ashamed of it?
If you think that line of thinking is ridiculous (not to mention completely disgusting), CONGRATULATIONS! You’re a normal human being.
That’s EXACTLY what this “free bleeding” menstruation thing is. Yes, periods are natural. That doesn’t mean I want to advertise my natural-yet-unsanitary bodily functions in public. Good grief – people freak out if they see a tissue left behind after someone had a bloody nose (and given the diseases that can be spread through blood, there is a very good reason for that!)
Also – I have no idea where this stupid idea comes from that males freak out if they hear the word “pad” or “tampon” or other period-related things. Maybe immature teenage boys snicker about it (because, teenage boys – but then again, teen girls make fun of them when their voices crack, so it goes both ways). But grown men? If an adult man gets squicky because his wife or girlfriend or sister or other female friend or whoever is on her period, but she’s handling it like she actually has some self-respect, he clearly needs to go back to high school. I’ve had male friends and relatives tell me that a dude being stupid about periods is a surefire sign that dude has no business even talking to a woman, much less dating her or having any kind of adult relationship with her.
So it ought to be with women and our periods. If women can’t handle associating with others while she’s on her period and has to make a big deal about her time of the month, then she really ought to just stay in her house and avoid all human contact until it’s over. Her body may be physically mature, but mentally and emotionally, she’s at the same level as a thirteen-year-old boy. And no, I don’t have a problem with saying so. And yes, I am being judgmental about it. Because I’ve had periods and they are no fun, but I deal with it and I don’t gross out everyone around me. Again – because I have a sense of self-respect. If I can handle it, so should other women. Is that seriously too much to ask?
(In this day and age, I already know the answer to that. Sadly.)
Ladies, there is nothing “empowering” about publicizing your period and shoving it in everyone’s face. At best, people just think you’re weird. At worst, you’re making all other women look as bat-guano-insane as you are. And nobody wants that.
Feminism has become nothing more than reducing women to our bases physical parts in the most vulgar way possible. None of this is endearing to others and it makes women look and sound like complete morons.
Then again, this is the movement that thought this was a legitimate protest –
I am embarrassed to share a gender with these creatures, quite honestly.
