I will refrain from making jokes about Paul Krugman’s own mental capacity. They’re just too easy.
According to this, Krugman has determined that President Trump isn’t fit to be president because he’s been mentally ill since he took office. Oh, and it’s James Comey’s fault. Or something –
“An American first: a president who was obviously mentally ill the moment he took office,” Krugman tweeted Tuesday morning, accompanied by a link to a New York Times story saying Trump “used his first official meeting with congressional leaders on Monday to falsely claim that millions of unauthorized immigrants had robbed him of a popular vote majority.”
Oh, and here’s his tweet with the column –
An American first: a president who was obviously mentally ill the moment he took office. Thanks, Comey https://t.co/FuZbCy5DxQ

Look, I think the focus on voter fraud is stupid. That’s what the left does when they lose – constantly whine about how they “wuz robbed” or whatever. I’m with Red Dawn on this – I wish Trump hadn’t made such a big deal out of it.
That being said – where does Krugman get off on calling the president “mentally ill,” just because he’s talking about something Krugman doesn’t like? Or even something that makes Krugman’s side look bad? Really – is that all Krugman has left to say anymore? If that’s the case, why is the New York Times wasting their money employing him?
(Because it’s the New York Times and they love losing. That’s why.)
When the left is losing an argument, the only thing they have left is name-calling. Or threats of physical violence. If you actually look at their arguments, it’s obvious that their arguments are complete crap, which is why they turn into schoolyard bullies the minute they start losing ground to the other side.
Tell me again – what specifically were the Women’s March protests about, again? The only straightforward answer I ever heard was that they wanted abortion. Which they already have! So, I don’t see the point of any of it.
Back to Krugman – did you happen to see this?

Huh. Maybe Krugman’s trying to deflect attention from the fact that – oh, you know – the stock market is LOVING the Trump Effect (and it certainly IS a Trump Effect. Many of the business people my dad works with have said that the market’s current upswing didn’t start until Trump won the election. In fact, many of them have said that they haven’t seen the market near this good for ten years or so. So, the left can claim it’s from Obama’s policies all they want – that’s all just wishful thinking).
Back on Election Night, Super-Economic-Genius Krugman predicted that the market was going to tank under President Trump –
It really does now look like President Donald J. Trump, and markets are plunging. When might we expect them to recover?
Frankly, I find it hard to care much, even though this is my specialty. The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear.
Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.
But as you’ve probably heard this morning, the Dow Jones opened at a record-high 20,000 points. So… Krugman’s little prediction didn’t come true, and now he has to cast aspersions on Donald Trump any way he can.
Poor little Paul Krugman. It’s going to be a long four years for him.
