Nicolas Cage Doesn’t Want To Portray Ronald Reagan In A Flattering Light Because He Might Damage His Career

The main point of this news isn’t that a Hollywood leftist is being a jackhole toward Ronald Reagan. The main point is that someone is actually considering casting Nicolas Cage as Ronald Reagan.

With that casting choice, I don’t think they have to worry about ANYONE mistaking their intentions for flattery. This isn’t even grudging politeness. It’s outright insulting.

According to this, Nicolas Cage has been offered the part of Ronald Reagan in an upcoming movie. It’s not clear if the movie is about Reagan or if he’s just a character in the film – it’s still quite early in the development process. But Cage has been reported to have said that portraying Ronald Reagan in a positive way would be too damaging to his career –

The Oscar-winning actor is said to be worried that it might damage his career if he plays Reagan in a flattering light reports Page Six.
Cage’s publicist, Stephen Huvane, dismissed that report however, saying: ‘It’s way too early in the development process.’
Little else is known about the film at this time, including the director, screenwriter or who else might star alongside Cage, should he accept the part.

It’s so cute that Cage doesn’t think his career is already a joke (clearly, he doesn’t remember Ghost Rider).

Quite honestly, I wouldn’t want someone as bizarre and goofy as Nicolas Cage playing Ronald Reagan. Not to mention the fact that I wouldn’t trust Hollywood to do a Ronald Reagan biopic justice (if indeed that’s what this is.)

Regardless, keep Nicolas Cage FAAAAAR away from anything to do with Ronald Reagan. That’s all I’m asking.
