Neera Tanden is out of her freaking MIND, y’all.
The former adviser to Hillary Clinton was on with Megyn Kelly, who asked why the Democrats don’t seem to be doing any kind of “soul searching” after they got their butts handed to them on Election Day.
Megyn brought up the fact that Nancy Pelosi was re-elected as House Minority Leader, even after being challenged by Tim Ryan for the post. She pointed to Chuck Schumer’s new job as Senate Minority Leader, as well as the fact that Keith Ellison is in the running to be the new DNC Chair.
Basically, it looks like the Democrats are doubling-down on the nonsense that cost them their power in the first place. And they haven’t learned one stinking thing –

Neera’s response? Democrats just need to talk about their message even more and… OH LOOK! There’s a squirrel that looks like Steve Bannon!
That’s it. That’s all the Democrats have. They don’t have to change their message – they just need to scream about it more. Never mind the fact that their message has been shoved in our faces for EONS. Not just from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi – but the Democrats’ message has been preached in movies, on TV, in books, in the news media, even during sporting events.
Yeah, Americans have heard the left’s message loud and clear. And we STILL rejected it. Pretty sure we got the message. And we hated it.
And I don’t know why Neera’s so freaked out about Steve Bannon, when her side is putting people in power that are just as problematic (by her own standards, mind you). If there’s a problem with Steve Bannon, let us on the right deal with that. The left has enough issues of their own to worry about, without being concerned over what we’re doing.
Regardless – if the Democrats think that they can just keep doing the same things that they’re doing, then I hope they get used to losing. I certainly don’t want to treat them the way they treated us in 2008 (dismissing out of hand and assuming that they were going to be in power forever) – they’re always going to be a threat to be taken seriously.
But you can’t pretend that screaming RACIST! SEXIST! WHITE SUPREMACIST! at your political opponents all the time is going to be very helpful. Those terms have been overused to the point that they don’t mean anything anymore. It’s just a way to shut down discussion and debate. Just like Neera did when Megyn brought up Keith Ellison – Neera just screamed about Steve Bannon, like his presence near Donald Trump makes Keith Ellison any less bad.
When Democrats insist on continuing to pull that nonsense, it’s easy to think that Republicans are going to be in charge for a nice long while.
