This happened a few months ago, but I still thought it’d be worth noting.
Federal convicts say they were forced to watch Hillary Clinton’s convention speech, but Donald Trump’s was completely blacked out. As in, the prison changed the channel and wouldn’t allow them to watch it.
Kind of fitting, forcing criminals to listen to Hillary’s voice.
Anyway, these prisoners are attempting to join the federal case against Obama’s 2014 deportation amnesty. They say he’s giving preferential treatment to illegal criminals, while punishing U.S. criminals.
Preferential treatment of prisoners. This is a conversation we’re having now.
In filings in a federal court in Texas, the four female convicts — one of whom, in a bizarre twist, is serving time for smuggling illegal immigrants — said they need to be set free to fight their case. They said prison officials and other inmates are targeting them for their political beliefs, and particularly their support for Mr. Trump, the GOP presidential nominee.
“On the night of Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, special accommodations were made, where every television in the housing units were placed on the channel where her speech was televised,” the convicts said. But they said they were not allowed “a television to watch Mr. Donald Trump give his acceptance speech.”
The women are being held at Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
While the Bureau of Prisons refused to answer questions on the accusations, the felons said that the prison as a whole was overwhelmingly pro-Hillary, and Trump supporters feared for their safety. One of the felons, Rhonda Ann Fleming, wrote a letter to the Trump campaign, voicing her concerns about illegal immigration. When she received a response, other prisoners reacted to her in a “hostile” manner.
The four felons also said that every illegal alien prisoner plans to come back to the United States after they’re released “because President Obama and Hillary Clinton are not going to deport them.”
HA. Good luck doing that with President Trump.
Keep in mind, these felons are in jail for a combination of fraud, drug possession, property crime and in one case, smuggling an illegal immigrant. Oddly enough, the illegal immigrant was released and is roaming free in Mexico. His smuggler’s still in jail.
They are asking to be allowed to join the lawsuit against Mr. Obama’s deportation amnesty, which is pending in the court of Judge Andrew S. Hanen. Judge Hanen issued an injunction blocking the amnesty, and that has been upheld by an appeals court and, earlier this year, by the Supreme Court in a 4-4 tie ruling.
The convicts say it is unfair that illegal immigrants who broke the law roam freely in the U.S., while they are incarcerated. They asked either to be released or sent to a halfway house while their case is pending.
Judge Hanen has yet to rule on any of their requests.
I never really thought about any of this in that light– the fact that this administration is more lenient with illegal criminals than U.S. criminals. Also, it’s pretty jacked up that they forced prisoners to watch Hillary’s speech but blocked Donald Trump’s. But hey. It is prison. Nothing is worse than the sound of Hillary Clinton’s voice. It’s fitting punishment.
