Harry Reid Believes Director Comey ‘May Have Broken’ Federal Law

Harry Reid set the internet ablaze Sunday after he suggested that FBI Director Comey “may have broken” federal law by writing a letter to lawmakers, informing them of the FBI’s discovery of new material related to the Clinton email case. Reid believes Comey may have violated the Hatch Act, which forbids government officials from using their position to meddle in the election process. He wrote a letter and everything.

It reads in part–

“Your actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another,” Reid wrote. “I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election. Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law.”

Oh, it gets better. Reid also accused Comey of withholding “explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government.”

RUSSIA!

“The public has a right to know this information,” Reid wrote. “I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public. There is no danger to American interests from releasing it. And yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information. By contrast, as soon as you came into possession of the slightest innuendo related to Secretary Clinton, you rushed to publicize it in the most negative light possible.”

Riiiiiiiiight. Because Hillary definitely didn’t bring any of this upon herself. What was Comey supposed to do? Suppress the information? The truth is, they discovered hundreds of thousands of emails potentially related to Hillary’s email case on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. Therefore, the FBI is reopening the case. Not sure what’s so partisan about that. The public’s entitled to that information. Do you know how ticked off everyone would be if Comey waited until AFTER the election to make that announcement?

The letter is nothing more than another desperate attempt from Democrats to distract the public from the issue at hand– Hillary Clinton’s blatant disregard for the law. SHE’S responsible for this mess. SHE caused it. No one “set her up.” This is on HER. SHE was careless. She has no one to blame but herself.

All of this is really rich coming from Reid. Isn’t this the same man who was super proud of himself for making defamatory statements about Mitt Romney in 2012? I think his exact words were, “They can call it whatever they want. Romney didn’t win did he?”

That sure sounds like a man who’s concerned about the integrity of a presidential election, lemme tell ya.
