I interrupt our busy day of politics to bring you the most amazing action shot in the history of action shots.
OK, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but it’s still pretty cool.
During a game between the Atlanta Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday, Pirates outfielder Danny Ortiza lost grip of his bat. It flew into the stands and nearly smacked a little boy right in the face.
A nearby fan jumped into action, sticking out his arm to block the boy’s face. Talk about quick reflexes!
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Christopher Horner captured the crazy moment.
“I didn’t know what happened, if it (hurt) the boy or anything,’ Ortiz said after the game. “I went home and my wife said to me, ‘You almost killed that kid!'”
“That guy took (a blow) for the kid. The father, or whoever he was, he protected that kid,” Ortiz continued.
Nutty, right?
