Bernie Sanders Thinks That One Millionaire Family With A Successful Business Is Why There Are So Many Poor People In America

Why doesn’t #FeelTheBern just come out and say he has no idea how economics works? He shouldn’t have to hide his complete ineptitude behind debunked rumors and stale liberal myths.

With today being the Iowa Caucuses, the candidates are out in full-force for a last-minute push before people start voting (or… however caucusing works. Never done it myself). Ted Cruz is communicating the message of conservatism brilliantly. Hillary is lying out of her lying liarhole. And Bernie… well, he’s creating class warfare and jealousy between the makers and the takers of this country. Because nothing says success like wanting to tear someone down just so you feel better about yourself.

That just about describes the entitlement mentality of my fellow Millennials, actually.

According to this, Bernie Sanders pretty much condemned the Walton family (you know, the founders of Wal-Mart – one of the biggest retail stores in the world) for being wealthy and successful. Here’s what he said –

There is so much wrong with this statement that it’s difficult to know exactly where to begin.

For one thing, many of those 130 million Americans in what constitutes poverty in this country probably shop at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart makes it possible for even the poorest people to afford things that would be luxuries in other countries (I’m not entirely sure on the numbers, but I wonder how many poor people in Venezuela have big screen TVs compared to the number of poor people in America who have them. And I wonder how many of those “poor” people in America bought their TV from Wal-Mart).

For another, Wal-Mart employs a lot of people who would otherwise be in poverty. If Wal-Mart wasn’t successful and didn’t have all that money, they wouldn’t be able to do that. Granted, they could probably do a lot more if government regulation and low-info activists stopped making Wal-Mart out to be this terrible capitalistic villain in the crusade to bring socialism to America. But they do a lot for the high quality of living in this country.

I hate to break it to Bernie (actually, no I don’t) – but taking away the wealth of one family with a gazillion-dollar corporation isn’t going to affect poverty in this country one iota. You can give poor people all kinds of free money and, unless they use it wisely and invest it in things that last, it’s not going to get them out of poverty. That’s why the Great Society and the War on Poverty were such colossal failures.

This is why a President Bernie Sanders would be a complete disaster. How can we have a guy who wants to be POTUS call out one company and make them out to be this scary boogeyman whose incredible wealth means the rest of you are going to be poor forever? First of all, that’s not how economics works at all. And yet, we have this self-proclaimed socialist telling millions of Americans that the reason they are suffering is not because of bad government policies, but because of big businesses who kick puppies and eat babies. That is, if Americans are really suffering that much at all (tell that to Millennials who are advocating for Bernie-style socialism while they’re Tweeting on their iPhones).

(While we’re on the subject – anyone want to ask Crazy Grandpa Bernie what his net worth is like? You won’t hear a word about that, will you? Or Hillary’s vast fortune either, come to think of it. Because, Democrats.)
