According to this, the CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, told employees this weekend that they will no longer be encouraged to write "Race Together" on their tall, grande, and venti cups.
I'll wait right here while you cry big fat crocodile tears into your caramel macchiato.
Schultz said that Starbucks' efforts to "promote discussion of racial issues" though, is "far from over."
PHEW! For a minute there, I was worried.
And hilariously, Schultz insists now that the whole campaign was SUPPOSED to end on Sunday. That was the plan from the beginning, y'all.
Mm hmm.
Schultz says future Starbucks plans include expanding into urban neighborhoods, hiring "opportunity youth" and doing more advertising with USA Today.
So stay tuned, everyone. There is still hope that Starbucks will completely heal all racial wounds, and teach us all a thing or two about race.
Because that's what we look to Starbucks for, right? Racial commentary.
