In case y'all aren't drunk enough from having to deal with extended-family-overload this past week (what?….what'd I say?), here's some more news for you to make that a done deal.
You ready?
Jeb Bush is the conservative favorite right now, and Mitt Romney is the "establishment pick" for 2016.
I kid you not. This is happening. THIS is what our party is doing right now. Out of the PLETHORA of good candidates out there, THAT is what we're coming up with.
From the source link (emphasis mine):
GOP voters are unsure which of the potential 16 candidates they like, choosing “Other/Not Sure” ahead of Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Sen. Rand Paul in a new poll released Christmas Day.
In the new Zogby Analytics poll, “Other” won with 19 percent, followed by Romney at 14 percent, Bush at 12 percent and Paul at 10 percent.
Among self-identifying Republicans, Mitt took first. Among self-identified conservatives, Bush was first, a surprise considering the number of hard-line right-wingers lining up to oppose his candidacy.
And because of this, it comes as no shock to me or any other person with an actual FREAKING BRAIN IN HER HEAD that Clinton will basically kick our butts if this is who we choose. Pollster John Zogby had this to say (and I tend to agree 100%….again, emphasis mine):
“Clinton leads all of the Republican top tier candidates handsomely — 49 percent-34 percent against Bush; 51 percent-33 percent against Paul; 48 percent-33 percent against Christie; and 50 percent to 35 percent against Romney,” he said in a statement about the new poll.
“If the election were held today the next president is a ‘she,’ ” said Zogby.
Thank the Lord above that the election isn't being held today, but still – this scares the ever living sh*t out of me.
And Mitt Romney? Seriously, GOP? You're going to recycle another one?
But it's not like the establishment would ever listen to REAL PEOPLE. I mean, that'd be too much to ask, right? God forbid they do something crazy like that. God forbid they do something that enables them TO WIN A FREAKING ELECTION.
Back to that getting drunk thing…
