So Mitch McConnell's either got himself a traitor in his midst, or liberals have secretly (and illegally) bugged his campaign headquarters. Either way, he's got himself a bit of a problem.
In case you haven't heard, a "leaked" audio recording was released by the source linked above (which I won't name because they annoy me), which showcased McConnell's staff making fun of how hilariously bad of a candidate Ashley Judd would have made for senate. This was, of course, recorded prior to her deciding not to run.
Now, if you're a person with an Actual Brain, and you listen to the recording or you read the transcript (at the sourcelink) then you're probably thinking, "Um – what exactly did they say about her that ISN'T TRUE? They simply used her OWN QUOTES to point out how easy she would be to beat." And you're exactly right. Ashley Judd's biggest threat to a successful campaign was her own crazy self. Because, as the McConnell staff rightly pointed out in not so many words, the chick is WACK.
Whoever ran McConnell's staff meeting was heard to say, "She's clearly, this sounds extreme, but she is emotionally unbalanced. I mean it's been documented. Jesse can go in chapter and verse from her autobiography about, you know, she's suffered some suicidal tendencies. She was hospitalized for 42 days when she had a mental breakdown in the '90s." Personally, I don't think that sounds extreme at all. It's 100% accurate. And if those staffers would've simply visited our site, they'd have found LOTS MORE evidence of her being completely mental. Like, for example, the fact that she is incapable of surviving on something as non-threatening as a MOVIE SET without her "psychological support dogs." And yet, we were supposed to think she was totally qualified to represent people in the SENATE? Please.
Liberals are going NUTS about how meeeeeeeeeean McConnell's staff is for poking fun at Ashley's mental instability. Because, you know, in THEIR campaign offices they just sit around all day speaking respectfully and with reverence about Republican opposition. And then they hold hands and say prayers for their conservative brethren. You know.
The only real newsworthy news about this story is that the recording was a) made without McConnell's knowledge and b) released. McConnell's team has the FBI on the case.
But yeah – the whole woe-is-Ashley angle? Ridiculous.
Her spokesperson released a statement which said, "We expected nothing less from Mitch McConnell and his camp than to take a personal struggle such as depression, which many Americans cope with on a daily basis, and turn it into a laughing matter. Every day it becomes clearer how much we need change in Washington from this kind of rhetoric and actions.”
Apparently, they must have edited out the "Waaaaaaaah!" at the end of that statement. Let's be real here: "This kind of rhetoric and actions" is precisely what the left is basically famous for, and when they get all hysterical and shrieky about this kind of stuff, it's positively giggle-worthy. I don't know about you all, but while I sympathize with folks who are suffering from depression, if they're unable to get through a regular day without a psychological support animal in their lap, I would just as soon not have them in positions of power, making decisions that impact the entire country.
Discuss.
