CK Nails It Again

My resolution for the next decade is to meet Charles Krauthammer, and then introduce him to my dad, and then watch the two of them play chess together.  Unlikely, I know, which is why I’m allowing a whole decade.  You guys just don’t understand what complete soulmates CK and my dad are.  I suspect they share as much of a brain as Daisy and I do – such that if they were in each other’s company, they’d be finishing each other’s sentences and marveling at their freaky similarities.

CK wrote up a fantastic article on Obama’s actions after the Flight 253 attack. In it, he says, “The reason the country is uneasy about the Obama administration’s response to this attack is a distinct sense of not just incompetence but incomprehension. From the very beginning, President Obama has relentlessly tried to play down and deny the nature of the terrorist threat we continue to face.” He cites obvious examples – from Napolitano referring to terrorist acts as “man-made disasters” to Obama apologizing for the US all over the place.

CK also reminds us how quickly Obama admonished us all not to “rush to judgment” about Nidal Hassan after the Fort Hood massacre, and then in his very first statement to the country about Abdulmutallab’s suicide mission called him an “an isolated extremist.”  Say whaaa?

And then of course is the manner in which we’ve handled Abdulmutallab since his detainment.  We didn’t interrogate him, because by golly, that would have gotten in the way of his right to remain silent.  As CK points out, “This is all quite mad even in Obama’s terms. He sends 30,000 troops to fight terror overseas, yet if any terrorists come to attack us here, they are magically transformed from enemy into defendant.“

It seems Obama won’t rest until our nation is transformed into the castrated version of its former self.
