WATCH: Chris Rock says Jussie Smollett, You Don’t Get No Respect From Me
Chris Rock feels like a remnant of a bygone era of comedy.
Chris Rock made a career for himself by TELLING IT LIKE IT IS – and never worrying whether what came out of his mouth was “PC” or “offensive.” He didn’t care – he mocked everyone for everything, and he didn’t hold back.

It wasn’t funny – it’s was HILARIOUS. But that kind of comedy just doesn’t fly in this “woke” new world of ours. You mustn’t offend the victims!
Chris Rock had been told not to make any Jussie Smollett jokes. Apparently, the person who thought they could stop him had never met Chris Rock before.
According to Fox News:
Jussie Smollett might have been a no-show at Saturday night’s NAACP Image Awards in Hollywood but that didn’t stop comedian Chris Rock from blasting the “Empire” star.
“They said ‘No Jussie Smollett jokes’ … What a waste of light skin. Do you know what I could do with that light skin? That curly hair? My career would be out of here! I’d be running Hollywood,” said Rock, who was on hand to present the award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Chris, you don’t need “light skin” to run Hollywood. You’re the man. When it comes to comedians, Chris Rock and Dave Chappell will always be in a league of their own. Neither of them needed “light skin” to be on top. They have TALENT. But anyway…
He continued: “What the hell was he thinking? You’re ‘Jessie’ from now on. You don’t get the ‘u’ no more. That ‘u’ was respect. You ain’t getting no respect from me!”
Ok. THAT made me laugh.
Smollett was nominated — but lost — for best supporting actor in a television drama for his role as Jamal Lyon on the Fox series. He was edged out by “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams.
Smollett has been nominated for the award four years in a row and won in 2017.
You’d think it was pretty obvious that there was no way this jerk would win. But you’d think wrong. People were actually rooting for him.
Leading up to the event, NAACP Image Awards host and “Black-ish” actor Anthony Anderson said in light of the charges against Smollett being dropped, he hopes the “Empire” actor will win for his work on the show.
Ugh.
What is WRONG with people? The fact that this all happened is sickening enough. The fact that people are ENABLING it? Well, it takes the situation to a whole new level of repulsive.
But anyway – thanks for keeping it REAL, Chris Rock. We knew you would.
