President Trump Says Rep. Ron DeSantis Would Make A ‘GREAT’ Governor Of Florida

When I saw this tweet, it warmed my heart.

Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida. He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER!

Full disclosure: Ron DeSantis is my congressman, and I’m proud to have him represent me in the House. I interned at his local office when I was still in college, and even though he was busy and exhausted, he allowed me to interview him on camera right after one of his town hall meetings. Even though I was a dorky college student just trying to work on a project, he was patient with me and answered every question I asked.

This was like, four years ago. LOOK AT THAT BABY FACE (me, OK. Don’t make this weird).

PS– that’s before I discovered lipstick. Don’t judge.

Working in a congressional office isn’t exactly my thing. I really hate answering phones. I was basically the worst gatekeeper ever. On my first day, someone called asking questions about their ski gear. Apparently, it was held up in US Customs, and I had NO IDEA how to handle it. It was hilariously terrifying. Can you picture me trying to help someone figure out their ski gear issue in a congressional office? HAHAHA. It’s SO not my thing.  Also, fluffy robes > pencil skirts.

STILL. I genuinely enjoyed my experience, and I think the people running the office liked me enough. I even got to take photos of DeSantis’ last victory party, which is kinda hilarious because I’m SO NOT a photographer. (Points for trying?)

So yeah. I’m really excited that President Trump thinks so highly of DeSantis. It’s super cool, and I agree that he’d make a fantastic governor. 🙂
