Heyyyyy laaaadies! You thought you were safe?
YOU’RE NOT.
READY OR NOT, HERE COME THE ALLEGATIONS
A feminist-backed female candidate in Kansas has dropped out of her U.S. House race after being accused of harassing a male employee who wouldn’t…er…well, you know. And apparently, she’s not too happy about it.
Andrea Ramsey, a Democratic candidate for Congress, will drop out of the race after The Kansas City Star asked her about accusations in a 2005 lawsuit that she sexually harassed and retaliated against a male subordinate who said he had rejected her advances.
Following the exposé, Ramsey, who’d been endorsed by the a pro-abortion feminist group Emily’s List which funnels money to liberal female candidates who support abortion rights, was dumped post-haste by her left-leaning backers.
For her part, Ramsey denies that she ever sexually harassed or plotted revenge against this unnamed employee, and is apparently pretty ticked about having to give up her congressional race. She’s now accusing the Democratic Party of throwing her under the bus in an attempt to virtue-signal over sexual harassment.
“In its rush to claim the high ground in our roiling national conversation about harassment, the Democratic Party has implemented a zero tolerance standard,” Ramsey said in a statement Friday. “For me, that means a vindictive, terminated employee’s false allegations are enough for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) to decide not to support our promising campaign. We are in a national moment where rough justice stands in place of careful analysis, nuance and due process.”
Iiiiiinteresting.
So OBVIOUSLY I wouldn’t have wanted this woman to win… but no… I’m not relishing in this, because unlike the Democrats I’m able to see what the long-term implications of all of this are.
If someone doesn’t like you, they just drop the sexual abuse card and BAM. You’re done forever. It doesn’t matter who you are, or what side you’re on. It’s the ultimate trump card, and there’s no getting past it.
Andrea believes in due process. People should not be guilty until proven innocent (and even then… still guilty.) I wonder if Andrea would have said the same about Roy Moore?
She seems pretty adamant that the allegations against her are false… and she might be telling the truth! But does the truth even matter anymore?
Interestingly, a recent study shows that women commit FAR more sexual abuse than is ever discussed:
In 2014, we published a study on the sexual victimization of men, finding that men were much more likely to be victims of sexual abuse than was thought. To understand who was committing the abuse, we next analyzed four surveys conducted by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to glean an overall picture of how frequently women were committing sexual victimization.
The results were surprising. For example, the CDC’s nationally representative data revealed that over one year, men and women were equally likely to experience nonconsensual sex, and most male victims reported female perpetrators. Over their lifetime, 79 percent of men who were “made to penetrate” someone else (a form of rape, in the view of most researchers) reported female perpetrators. Likewise, most men who experienced sexual coercion and unwanted sexual contact had female perpetrators.
….
We also pooled four years of the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) data and found that 35 percent of male victims who experienced rape or sexual assault reported at least one female perpetrator. Among those who were raped or sexually assaulted by a woman, 58 percent of male victims and 41 percent of female victims reported that the incident involved a violent attack, meaning the female perpetrator hit, knocked down or otherwise attacked the victim, many of whom reported injuries.
….
Also surprisingly, women inmates are more likely to be abused by other inmates than are male inmates, disrupting the long held view that sexual violence in prison is mainly about men assaulting men. In juvenile corrections facilities, female staff are also a much more significant threat than male staff; more than nine in ten juveniles who reported staff sexual victimization were abused by a woman.
So this kind of destroys the “men are pigs” thing, right?
Turns out, we ALL are.
Eeeeeveryone’s a pervert, folks.
