Alabama Couple Adds Sextuplets To Its Family Of 5, And The Names Of Their Kids Are…Unusual.

Listen – I get it.   You want your kids to be individuals, unique in every way (which is pretty much a given anyway, but still.)  If you’re a celebrity, you name your kids weird stuff by default, it seems.

But sometimes, regular people name their kids weird names too.

Take this Alabama couple, for instance. 

Courtney and Eric Waldrop just had sextuplets, born at 30 weeks, but all doing well so far in the NICU in a hospital in Huntsville, AL.

I’m the mom of two preemies (a 30-weeker and a 28-weeker), so I’m very familiar with the roller coaster ride they’ll be on for the next several weeks.  The Waldrops have 3 sons already, young twin boys conceived with the help of fertility drugs, and an older son as well.  And since they suffered a miscarriage in January, a doctor decided to put Courtney on the same low-dose fertility drug again.

Aaaaand then there were sextuplets.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous family:

And the names of their kiddos?  Well, like I said earlier, they’re unusual.

Their older children are Saylor Briggs, Bridge Ryder, and Wales Tucker.  And the sextuplets (3 boys and 3 girls) are Layke Bryars, Blu Wellington, Tag Bricker, Rivers McCall, Rayne McCoy, and Rawlings McClaine.

So yeah.  Unique.

Anyway, I’m happy for them that the babies are all doing well, because it’s obviously a concern anytime babies are born that early and anytime there’s that many of them.  We’re not meant to have litters, obviously, but modern medicine has made that A Thing.  And since they had the choice of terminating one or more of those sweet babies, I celebrate the fact that they chose to carry them all.
