Pro-Life Woman Disgusted She Was Wrongly Used In Pro-Choice Ad Shared By Clinton, Newsom

Hillary Clinton and Gavin Newsom both recently shared a “Yes on Prop 1” ad, paid for by the California Democratic Party, about voting for abortion. The ad starts out showing video clips from the moments after the Roe v. Wade decision to return abortion legislation decisions to the state level rather than keep it a federal issue. They show marching protesters with the label “MAD.” Then they show a woman crouching, covering her face, and sobbing, with the label “SAD.” Lastly, they show protesters marching with the label “SCARED.” The only problem is, the sobbing woman labeled as “SAD” is staunchly pro-life and was sobbing with joy at the idea of the power being returned to states and the subsequent protection of life. She wasn’t sad, she was relieved and overjoyed.

In the words of Macy Petty, the crying woman, “those are HAPPY tears because I just witnessed a MIRACLE!” And she doesn’t appreciate the clip of her being disingenuously used to represent her as being sad about the Roe v Wade decision.

She took to Twitter, first to correct the record in a tweet directed at Clinton and Newsom, then to publish a letter demanding that they remove her from their “Yes on Prop 1” campaign video. In the letter, she explains that the video from which that clip was taken shows clear evidence of her carrying a “Students for Life” banner and protesting with friends who were all holding pro-life signs, which she says clearly indicated her feelings on the subject. Of the clip they obviously used out of context, she says,

“You selected a portion in which I fell to my knees in tears. At this moment, I witnessed a miracle. I was overwhelmed. As I continued to witness history, I pondered how lucky I was to witness such an event. I thanked the Lord for his decision and for opening my eyes to the evil of abortion. This is what brought me to tears.

You have manipulated these emotions. You have disrespected me as a woman and an engaged member of society. Although I am distinctly pro-life in the full video, you consciously chose to portray me as pro-abortion. In the video, you not “we” are “sad.”

I am not “we.” I strongly oppose Prop 1. Do not include me in your efforts to further manipulate women and violently take life from the most vulnerable and innocent among us.

I demand you remove me from the Yes on Prop 1 campaign fideo and all further pro-abortion materials. I will not stand by as you use my face, my tears, and my passion in a way that promotes demonic activity.”
