June 29, 2016Multiple explosions and gunfire rocked Ataturk Airport in Istanbul Tuesday, leaving at least 41 killed and dozens more wounded. It didn’t take long for authorities to blame the Islamic State for the devastating attack.
Details are still emerging, but footage continues to come out, and it’s positively chilling.
The video below shows a hero police officer gunning down one of the suicide bombers and saving dozens of people. After shooting the terrorist, Officer Yasin Durna quickly inspected him and made a run for it. Moments later, the terrorist detonated his suicide vest. Durna was injured in the blast, but is recovering in the hospital after having his spleen removed.
The airport reopened Wednesday morning, but obviously, everyone continues to remain on high alert.
