What does this ad tell you?
I'll tell you what it tells me.
First off, this ad tells me that this kid has never had an honest conversation with his Mom and Dad (um…could you not have said something to your mom, kid? She was sitting there quietly, READING A BOOK…it's not like she was doing CRACK or something). This ad tells me that our kids are being brainwashed into thinking that they're not safe at home if there are firearms, because Mom and Dad can't handle them – only important government people and celebrities (and criminals, apparently) can, dontchaknow. This ad tells me that somewhere along the way, this kid was taught to be afraid of talking to his own parents, but the school system is exactly where he can confide in someone, obviously.
Seriously? COME ON.
This ad tells me that this kid – at presumably late middle school age or early high school age – has never been taught how to properly respect his parents' personal belongings – let alone a firearm.
This ad also tells kids that IT'S TOTALLY OK FOR YOU TO STEAL YOUR PARENTS' FIREARMS! YAAAAY! As if he wasn't already a delinquent for doing that, this kid is a big ol' criminal now for bringing a gun onto school property. That's a no-no, kid. You're no hero in the real world. Have fun in juvie, you little punk.
But those on the left will hail this freckle-faced, boy-band-looking kid as some sort of hero for doing this little short film. In fact, he'll probably run for president on the Democrat ticket someday. Or become the next Matt Damon.
This ad tells me so many things – all of which have nothing to do with ACTUAL CRIMINALS who use guns to kill people. The gun control crowd – kind of like Bloomberg and his little Moms-who-wear-pearls-and-have-armed-guards-brigade – they don't care about that, y'all. They don't care about educating people on the proper safety and usage of firearms. They just care about scaring people and then going back to their safe homes in their gated communities. They care about punishing law-abiding citizens who haven't done anything wrong, you see. It's much easier to go for the low-hanging fruit and the low-fo voters.
And they make dumba$$ PSAs like this.
What does this ad tell you?
More than anything else, it tells me – once again – that we don't have a gun problem in this country. We have a freaking PEOPLE PROBLEM. We have an evil problem. Period.
And taking all the guns away in the world won't cure the evil in people, folks.
There will always be another weapon.
