Racism on Full Display at the WNBA? You Be the Judge

Would you like some double standards and a side of racism, anyone?

WNBA player Brittney Griner doesn’t appear to be a fan of opposing player Caitlin Clark, allegedly calling Clark and the ref “f***ing white girls” during a tantrum over being fouled out during Thursday’s game.

Now we could be jumping to conclusions. Some are claiming Griner was saying “f***ing whack call.” Or, it could have been “f***ing bite squirrels.” I’ll let you be the judge—but I’m leaning toward “probably not” on both of those options.

Regardless, it looks bad. And I don’t even need to tell you what would have happened if the roles were reversed and a white player had been caught on camera in this type of situation. We would have had a full-scale media meltdown. But alas, Griner is black so this will undoubtedly be brushed under the rug.

On the bright side, Griner’s team, the Atlanta Dream, lost to Indiana Fever. Seems like poetic justice to me.
