Give me “Orders That Don’t Matter” for $200, Trebek.
The UN took a page out of the international court’s book and has decided to jump on the “Let’s Hate on Israel” train.
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The United Nations’ top court ordered Israel on Friday to immediately halt its military offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, but stopped short of ordering a cease-fire for the enclave. Although Israel is unlikely to comply with the order, it will ratchet up the pressure on the increasingly isolated country.
I’m pretty sure that ceasefire would happen on its own if the hostages were immediately released ALIVE. There was a pretty great ceasefire going on before Hamas senselessly slaughtered a bunch of innocent civilians on October 7, too. But the UN seems to be forgetting about that minor detail.
Israel doesn’t seem to have any plans of aborting their mission, with Benny Gantz, a member of Netanyahu’s war cabinet saying, “The State of Israel is committed to continue fighting to return its hostages and promise the security of its citizens — wherever and whenever necessary — including in Rafah.”
Yup. You don’t get to kidnap and slaughter people and expect the country not to react. It’s like sucker punching someone and then acting shocked when they piledrive you back.
