Want free healthcare? Well, it’s a simple two-step process.
Step 1: Come to the United States Illegally.
Step 2: Go to California.
Congrats! You’ve just saved yourself thousands of dollars on healthcare by bumming off law-abiding taxpayers.
California is ushering in 2024 with free healthcare for more than 700,000 migrants living illegally in the Golden State as the state is faced with a looming $68 billion deficit.
The program, which was announced in May by Gov. Gavin Newsom, will provide health insurance for approximately 700,000 illegal immigrant residents aged 26-49.
California has been providing free health insurance to illegal immigrants who are under 26-years-old since 2019.
This is how I imagine Gavin Newsom pitched the idea of the program despite the gigantic, gaping deficit:
…and then he did it anyway.
As someone who has racked up her fair share of medical bills (and PAID THEM ALL), this is insane to me. The program is set to cost $2.6 BILLION annually, and it seems taxpayers have had enough. Many citizens and businesses are choosing to flee the state, which is threatening tax revenue.
But never fear, I’m sure Governor Gavin Newsom has some really brilliant plan on how to balance the budget and pay for all his wonderful programs. If you need a hint, it probably involves your wallet.
