Any Republican looking past Kennedy’s new-found popularity as a presidential candidate would see he’s still a hardcore, gun-grabbing lefty — not conservative by any measure. He obviously recognizes some truths about vaccines, our involvement in Ukraine, and he stands up many of the lies told by Democrats and the media. I doubt Quinnipiac has it right. When RFK Jr entered the race, the DNC immediately attacked RFK as a nutjob because they know he’ll take many votes from a very politically-damaged, feeble old man running for re-election.
You’re not wrong, but your comment doesn’t take into account two things: the abysmal stupidity of many Americans when they enter the voting booth and the absolute antipathy so many people have for Trump. If/when he becomes the R nominee, many people are going to be voting for Not Trump, which many mean a fair number of R’s voting for Kennedy. If it wasn’t such a crisis for our country, I’d say grab your popcorn and enjoy the show. As it is, I just sit back and pray.
