Well would you look at that… yet another example to point to when people ask why you think college has become, on the whole, an utter waste of time and resources.
On that note, may I present everyone’s favorite school to pull for in the CFB National Championship: Drag U…
From The College Fix:
A new “Drag University” program launched at Princeton University will train students in the “artform.”
The program is offered through the school’s Gender + Sexuality Resource Center and is open to all undergraduate and graduate students interested in the world of drag, according to the center’s Instagram page.
Throughout the 2023-24 school year, enrolled participants will cover an array of topics, including the history of drag, “Sewing 101,” choreography, face painting, photoshoots and other topics, according to the program’s registration form.
The form was updated this week to note: “At this time we have reached our capacity for our scholarships, but you are more than welcome to attend our workshops.”
Prior to its update, the form stated the first six enrollees who attend the Sept. 19 orientation and commit to the program will receive scholarships to fully cover the cost of supplies, according to a copy screenshot by The College Fix.
“Sessions will be taught by local drag performers, on campus partners who know their way around machines, and other students,” states an Instagram post advertising the program.
Perhaps if we spent a little more time making sure young people knew how to spell, and a little less time on achieving the perfect smoky eye, I wouldn’t be as close as I am to poking my own eyes out.
Remember when the Ivy League had an actual reputation? It’s been awhile… Old school professionalism is out, and new age “professionalism” is in… which means you have students that bring two Marie Callendar’s chicken pot pies to eat during your Ancient Israel lecture. True story…
To make matters even worse, there are some people who will have their costs covered for this. I can’t find anybody to cover costs for a historian with a 4.0 GPA. I’m considering marking my account for they/them just to see if that makes a difference. I could probably kick and scream about discrimination and bigotry, too… we’ll see how bored I get.

Some institutions of higher learning have reached new lows. I’m of the thought that higher education is needed for fields such as medicine, (i.e. Dr. Ben Carson) and law, (i.e. Justice Clarence Thomas). Community colleges, trade schools, technical schools and specialty schools — such as the nursing school my daughter graduated from last April are often better than expensive and overrated colleges and universities. There is a greater need of nurses, plumbers, mechanics, carpenters, electricians, (such as Virginia Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Sears!) and other essential skills than there are for underwater basket weavers or whatever other kooky fields and degrees one can think of. This Drag University is the latest.
