The contradiction in the same sentence is astounding to me.
This doesn’t even take a ton of critical thinking effort to know this one-breath thought isn’t logical, but I digress.
Congratulations, someone gave the stage to someone who believes freedom of speech threatens freedom of speech.
In her speech, the Former New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, stated that censorship is necessary to protect the freedom of speech, because free speech is a weapon of war.
Pretty sure the Battle of Gettysburg wasn’t just a bunch of dudes yelling obscenities at one another. There weren’t 50,000 estimated casualties, with the cause of death being the spoken word.
Oh, people died from mustard gas in World War II? Nahh, that was someone just being mean to them while the victims stood in a chamber for a bit.
Give me a freaking break, I only have so much Excedrin to temper my migraines.
If my observations of people in power have taught me anything, it’s that a title doesn’t indicate a connected or functional brain stem.

“Justice Louis D. Brandeis established it in his classic concurring opinion in Whitney v. California (1927), when he wrote:
“If there be time to expose through discussion, the falsehoods and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence.”
The counterspeech doctrine posits that the proper response to negative speech is to counter it with positive expression. It derives from the theory that audiences, or recipients of the expression, can weigh for themselves the values of competing ideas and, hopefully, follow the better approach.
The counterspeech doctrine is one of the most important free expression principles in First Amendment jurisprudence.”
