At first glance, you might wonder if your eyes are playing tricks on you. Is it possible that radical and ridiculous Leftist activists David Hogg and Ted Lieu really called out and contradicted the New Mexico governor, who recently announced that she is suspending constitutional rights by declaring a public health emergency exception? Well, don’t be impressed just yet. This wreaks of a political script, not an organic moment of reason by either of these men.
Notice how the language is almost identical: “I support gun safety” BUT ” there is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution.”

Some people accused David Hogg of stealing Ted Lieu’s tweet, but I don’t agree. I think they both simply got the same memo calling Leftist activists to help distance The Party from her actions. I suspect the memo probably told them to assure the public that they support gun safety laws but that there is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution, and so that’s exactly what both dutiful propagandists did. Surely the Democrat political establishment can see this is potentially disastrous for them in the upcoming elections.
Remember how disastrous the “defund the police” movement was? They jumped the shark on that one. They pushed it way too far and the people pushed back, and they can see this being a similar situation. For example, here’s what happened recently in Virginia under similar circumstances.
