What they SHOULD have done was to absolutely refuse to turn over that access code and force the FBI to force them to comply, then brag to their considerable conservative client base about how they defended their rights and privacy to the bitter end. But they didn’t. They bent over. And then they admitted that they did so pretty willingly.
