July 29, 2023I was at a Tampa Bay Young Republicans (TBYR) meeting Tuesday night where Laura Loomer came to speak. TBYR has endorsed DeSantis for President; however, about 50% of the club is pro Trump in the primary. Loomer was invited to try and sway those of us in the DeSantis camp. Let’s just say it didn’t work like she wanted it to…at least for me.
Several times she stated that Trump is owed this presidency. Do I think there were shenanigans in 2020? Yes. Do I think Trump got screwed? Sure. But no one is owed the presidency. We have a Democratic Republic in this country. Which means no one is ever owed the presidency.
She also talked about how DeSantis owes his entire political career to Trump and by running for president is essentially stabbing Trump in the back. Especially by using campaign funds that she believes were stolen from Trump voters. I am really sick of this. The loyalty thing is stupid. Again, this is America. We have a Democratic Republic, which means anyone is able to throw their hat in the ring to run for President, including Ron DeSantis.
When she started ranting about how she wouldn’t vote for anyone but Trump is where I really began to lose it. He is most likely going to be our nominee, so it’s not an issue. But what if he’s not? She’s just going to let the Democrats win? How do people not see that not voting is a vote for the Dems? So let me say this one more time for the people in the back, VOTE FOR WHOEVER OUR NOMINEE IS. If not, we get 4 more years of liberals ruining our country.
The thing that pissed me off the most is when she doubled down on the comments she made alleging Casey DeSantis’s cancer was fake. I asked her to respond to her allegations that Casey faked, or in her words “grossly overstated” her cancer diagnosis. Her response didn’t make me feel better.
First of all, calling her Jill is the dumbest thing. But okay. Second, the ad she is talking about is one of the sweetest ads I have ever seen. I had heard that Ron didn’t even know about this ad until it dropped. If you think it was to get pity votes, then you’re entitled to that opinion. However, I didn’t see it that way. I was deeply moved.
Thirdly, what I find “distasteful” is the fact that she is doubling down on this! Alleging that someone faked having cancer is gross. I know, she said she didn’t say that Casey faked it…but the direct quote was, “she claims she had cancer (I’ve never seen the medical records),” which seems like she’s alleging it was fake to me.
I could go on and on, but I won’t. The last thing I will say is that she b*tched about DeSantis moving around funds. I don’t love it. I think it’s sketch. But this is what happens in campaigns. I have no idea who Laura Loomer is but what you relate makes it seem that she is not the brightest bulb in the pack. I am 83 years old. I spent 20 years on active duty, 10 of that in the Airborne and 6 of that in special ops assignments. After that I was a pilot in Alaska. After that I joined a volunteer fire department and advanced to the rank of captain and became an advanced cardiac life support medic, EMT III in Alaska. In short, I have not lived this long by being stupid. I have voted in every presidential election since I turned 21 (the old legal voting age) and in all those elections I have only voted FOR a candidate twice. Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. In 2016 my vote was not for Trump, it was AGAINST Hillary Clinton. In 2020 it was FOR Trump because he did what he said he would do in his campaign. Also, the democrats, republican elites and the media hated and feared him. Ask yourself why that would be. My dream team would be Trump/DeSantis 2024. I would hope that Trump would focus on the deep state and foreign policy and let DeSantis take care of domestic issues. Then DeSantis/Noem 2028 and 2032. It took generations to get this screwed up and will take dedicated effort to clean up the mess we have become.

I like Gov. Desantis. He will make a great future President. The reason I plan to vote for President Trump is because I believe he like more so than all the other candidates has a vested interest to go after and destroy the deep state, if he does not then he and his family will be forever targets of their lawfare.

I like DeSantis too. But Trump will have some axes to grind, and they desperately need to be ground. Federal agencies have been infiltrated for decades with people who want to pull our country down. Mostly they are useful idiots that have been indoctrinated and are not intelligent enough to realize that. They write regulations that go far beyond the intent of legislation and get away with it until they are challenged in court. Trump made the mistake of trying to work with liberal progressives. I doubt that he will make that mistake again.
As an aside, Bidens new dog is named Commander, or Commie for short. I understand that pets take on a likeness of their master. Maybe that is why Commie hates the secret service.
