Have I mentioned I’m an introvert? In general, people really tend to grind on my nerves. I have a small circle of people I enjoy being around, but for the most part, I’d rather just be by myself. Eventually, I’ll begin to grind on my own nerves, leading me to get back into the mix in order to have someone else do that deed for me. Then, I’ll retreat back to my peaceful solitude once I’ve had my fill. A vicious cycle.
With stories like this, though, I’m finding the whole solitude thing even more enticing to avoid being put in situations like this when I’m looking for a good time…
From the Daily Wire:
Country star Miranda Lambert made it clear she was not happy with a couple of fans at her Las Vegas residency show over the weekend when she stopped singing mid-concert and called them out.
During the 39-year-old singer’s residency “Velvet Rodeo” at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Saturday, Lambert had begun singing her hit song “Tin Man” when she noticed ladies in the front row taking selfies.
“I’m gonna stop right here for a second,” Lambert said in a clip of the interaction posted on TMZ.
“These girls are worried about their selfies and not listening to the song,” said Lambert. “It’s pissing me off a little bit. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. And I’m singing some country damn music.”
The entire time Lambert blasted the selfie crew, the audience loudly cheered.
The country singer appeared to signal to the fans that she wanted the phones put away and told the ladies, “We’re good,” before asking the crowd, “Shall we start again?” The concert then resumed.

I’m a little torn here. Selfies in a public space? A little annoying. Getting reprimanded in fornt of an entire concert full of people over a picture? Enough of an embarrassment to haunt your dreams forever.
I’ve never been a fan of selfies, so I rarely take them. If I were to take one, however, this seems like an occasion that I would want to remember. Especially after shelling out whatever exuberant wad of cash it must have cost to get close enough for a good picture in this dumpster fire of an economy. I’d probably want some proof that I was able to swing that too.
Miranda Lambert wasn’t as grouchy/Karen-esque as she could’ve been, but I don’t know if a selfie was worth stopping an entire concert. This smells like more of a power trip to me than anything else.
I’m no fan of Miranda Lambert, but if this happened to me at a concert I chose to pay for, I probably would think twice about doing so again.
I think we all need a brush-up on public etiquette. I don’t know my a$$ from my elbow anymore as far as that stuff goes. I feel like the rules are changing by the minute. To selfie, or not to selfie? That is the question…

There is some context we’re missing here. If it’s just one or two pictures, I personally wouldn’t have an issue with that if I were in Lambert’s position. Like you said, it’s something you’d want to remember. (I’ve taken pictures at concerts while being in the front row, but never a selfie, no flash, and no camera shutter.) But if it’s snap after snap after snap after snap after snap, yeah, that gets annoying real fast, especially when most people are too dense and too stupid to mute their shutter sound effects.
I’m not much of a selfie taker, either. The images are often distorted. Yes, this looked like a power thing on Lambert’s part and she fails to realize that FANS are part of the fame she enjoys.
