You’d think since they’ve coined themselves as the party of love and acceptance, they’d be happy to see fairness spread more evenly throughout the admissions process for college students of all backgrounds.
Just kidding. Everyone saw these reactions coming.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court court ruled that the race-based admissions programs at the schools violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, drawing the ire of prominent Democrat politicians and leftist commentators.
Former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said the ruling diminished “hard-fought progress for racial justice.”
“Chief Justice Roberts’ majority opinion does violence to justice and fairness in America,” she wrote on Twitter. “In contrast, Justice Jackson’s powerful dissent is inspiring to us, as we continue to fight to widen the path to success for all Americans.”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said the decision was “misguided.” “The Supreme Court ruling has put a giant roadblock in our country’s march for racial justice,” Schumer said. “The consequences of this decision will be felt immediately and across the country, as students of color will face an admission cycle next year with fewer opportunities to attend the same colleges and universities than their parents and older siblings.”
“Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions – it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our effort,” Obama said.
The majority opinion, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, said that universities could allow applicants to mention personal experiences of racism when applying for colleges, but that there could not be explicit policies based on the applicant’s race.
The ruling came after a group called Students for Fair Admissions sued the schools, accusing the institutions of unfairly factoring race into their admissions processes. The group pointed to the high test scores of Asian-American and white applicants who were rejected.
Can you really call yourself a lib if you’re not angry about something that makes perfect sense to your average thinker?
We should always strive for equal opportunities, not equal outcomes.
Equality of outcome has never driven anyone to achieve great things, and it never will. There has to be something that compels someone to work hard. If everything gets handed to you when you did nothing to deserve it, then you’ll end up a miserable schlub, as will everyone who actually did put in the effort. That’s why so many people who actually experienced socialism and communism are willing to risk their lives for a better future in America.
It’s pretty easy to put together why leftists are so upset, though… they need their constituents to need them. Empty promises, pop culture crusades, and sowing social strife are the only ways they know how to cook up votes, you know…
If we want things to get better, we have to prioritize hard work, diligence, and the merit one earns from putting those virtues into practice. Just because something exists doesn’t mean you automatically have a right to it. Certain things must, instead, be earned. I think that’s a major part of the problem facing higher education. People have begun to see it as a right rather than a privilege. Even in America, I think that it’s something that needs to be earned instead of handed out. We don’t need to send kids to college just because it seems like the next chronological stepping stone.
Will that hurt some feelings? Almost certainly, but that’s kind of the point. Your ability to contribute meaningfully, whether that be to a single institution or society as a whole, has nothing to do with the color of your skin. It’s not something that should be considered when it’s the least helpful or qualifying item on your résumé.

Hello everyone. I want to tell you a story about my application for a scholarship! When I was asked to write a medical fellowship personal statement, I felt a mixture of excitement and responsibility. It was a chance to showcase my passion for medicine and motivation. I put my heart into every word, describing my path, values and desire to help patients. Each phrase had to reflect my dedication to this profession and the desire for constant growth. The support of friends and family has been incredibly important and I am proud that my statement reflected my true self and helped me move forward in my medical career.
Both Karim Jean-Pierre and Ketanji Brown Jackson are affirmative action hires by Joe Biden; qualifications be damned, they have none! It’s no wonder why KJP and KBJ had meltdowns. Kamela Harris was used by Biden to get the black vote. I liked how Justice Clarence Thomas put KBJ in her place with the precision of a scalpel in Dr. Ben Carson’s “gifted hands”. Being in their 70’s, both Justice Thomas and Dr. Carson faced true racism, (something KBJ faced little or none of) and other hardships, yet they rose above their adversities by applying their faith to hard work and became the remarkable men they are today. Others can do so, too. I’m black and have what it takes to be admitted into colleges and universities, (if I choose to attend) but I see affirmative action as a patronizing insult that renders all my hard work and dedication moot in favor of the shallowness of my skin color. People accuse Republicans and conservatives of opposing affirmative action, but it was Richard Nixon — a REPUBLICAN who implemented AA, but race hustlers and Marxists have weaponized it. Glad to see it meet the same fate as Roe V. Wade, another Supreme Court decision that harmed black Americans.

I hope some people start to see the contradiction there, then go down the “red pill” road.
Sadly to them it’s not racism, it’s anti-racism but somehow reverse racism isn’t a thing even though linguistically and in practice they are identical.
The irony is that this whole affirmative action nonsense was a very core concept in eroding our higher education system. Students were getting into schools they were very much not qualified for but had to be passed for fear of being “racist” and thus the education standards started to degrade to allow these students to get degrees.

Originally kids who went to college did much better than kids who did not, and even to this day on average many do. The problem is that this is because the kids had more drive than their peers not because of any inherent benefit of college itself. Sadly everyone believes the relationship was inverted and that college was actually providing these kids with something instead and thus we were sold a bill to send more kids to college which ironically played into Democrats hands as they created a new “slave” class due to the massive student debt incurred.
These modern-day overseers are just upset because they will no longer have a grift going because schools will have to start teaching the basics, if they want all their students to get into the best colleges or any colleges.
I saw lots of colleagues, from all walks of life, work hard to succeeded, at both their education and work. There are a lot of people who pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps to get where they ended up. I always thought it had to be disheartening that no matter how hard some worked to get out an unfortunate situation or to better themselves that were subject to snickers and disrespect because people would think they got their success from being an affirmative action hire.
Sue the Bas_ards! I think this case just opened a whole lot of opportunities for lawyers to get clients who were racially discriminated based on these diversity theories in employment and education, justice, which always equates to the lawyer’s pocket being lined with cash.
