It’s absolutely amazing to me that Trump’s most ardent, loyal supporters will defend the indefensible.
I’ve said repeatedly that if Trump is the nominee, I’ll vote for him for a third time. But that is not a defense of Trump. That’s a statement about how absolutely AWFUL Biden is for the country. I would love for literally ANY OTHER PERSON to be our nominee at this point, because Trump only seems to care about his own ego. It really sucks that our country will likely have to face a presidential election between two 80 year olds, when the GOP bench is the deepest and highest quality EVER right now.
But that’s where we are. And listen – if you’re a tried and true Trump loyalist, that’s fine. You are obviously welcome to support whoever you want in a primary, and Trump is obviously polling way ahead of any of his competition. But even if you’re a loyalist, how do you, in good conscience, defend this?
The sickest part of Trump’s latest unhinged meltdown is that @kayleighmcenany was not only Trump’s biggest defender but also an absolute star of the administration. Going up against hostile press every day with nothing but class.

Even the diehards can’t defend this… pic.twitter.com/vGL4wDhqCZ
Rubin isn’t alone in his criticism. And he’s 100% right.
At some point, don’t the loyalists have to recognize that nearly every single Republican Trump now viciously attacks were people HE CHOSE TO HIRE or appoint? Doesn’t that pattern concern anyone?
There is not a single person Trump won’t turn on… for all his comments about loyalty, he doesn’t respect it and doesn’t have it. pic.twitter.com/9gKvqe6BQb

For a guy who preaches loyalty, Trump is shockingly disloyal to those who were most loyal to him. https://t.co/Ifj3MA9dWn

If Trump had a sufficient amount of introspective humility, he would have instituted the behavioral changes that would have allowed him to win a second term. BUT, there are elements of one's personhood that are nearly impossible to change. People might agree with his policies…

Gad Saad also learned what we have seen first hand in our comment section during our livestreams. People have become absolutely batsh*t during this primary.
It's unbelievable.
— Gad Saad (@GadSaad) May 31, 2023
I critique a post that Trump put out last night as unnecessary, and tons of super angry Trump fans come after me. If I don't criticize Trump, many anti-Trump hysterics attack me.
I make the obvious point that DeSantis lacks some charisma and this might…
He is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about that.
And just how far will Trump’s base go? It’s a valid question.
Trump is now attacking Kayleigh McEnany on truth social. Are y’all going to turn on her too? How far will y’all go? How many Christian conservatives will attempt to ruin in the process?

It’s always an an honor to join with a professional like @kayleighmcenany, as I did tonight on @FoxNews, where we discussed the only thing that is actually “milk toast” (sic) – and that’s the bad debt ceiling bill… https://t.co/5YFhjb7oRQ

Kayleigh is the kindest person and was the best press secretary to ever step foot in the White House. There is ZERO excuse for degrading or belittling her to this degree over a few points. I am upset, and at a loss for words. This erratic behavior is concerning. pic.twitter.com/nmksKn28Z8

Kayleigh was one of the only voices defending Trump on CNN when he ran in 16. I often disagreed with her, but she was prepared, relentless & unafraid of being heavily outnumbered. She then served Trump as chief spokesperson when he was president. She also likes DeSantis. Result: pic.twitter.com/ZwToHGOvpm

What is this guy's problem? Kayleigh was literally his best hire. pic.twitter.com/OMOnmNNmT8
— Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) May 31, 2023
Kayleigh was Trump's best hire… She defended him so well despite everything in 2020. She took a lot of unfair criticism and abuse from the media for doing her job well. Let's talk about LOYALTY….

Zero excuses for this kind of behavior. President Trump is capable of better.
— Nan Hayworth, M.D. (@NanHayworth) May 31, 2023
Kayleigh McEnany served in impeccable faith under the most difficult of circumstances. She's the best of America in myriad ways. She deserves complete respect. https://t.co/MRXbj0GVNJ
Are you gonna defend Trump on this? And if so, why? To what end? Do you have any red line at all?
If Trump wins the nomination, I, along with thousands of other people who will end up going to the ballot box holding our noses, will be loud and outspoken about Trump’s policies – the policies which did enormous good for the US and the world. I’ll happily defend his America First vision and will shout from the rooftops about what he was able to accomplish pre-Covid.
But you will NEVER get me to defend his character when he behaves so disgustingly. America deserves better.

I am 100% with you Mock! I am so sick of Trump and his ego. I proudly voted for him twice and I will vote for him again if he is the nominee but I really hope he isn’t. I think most of the country is just tired of the drama that he brings. Unfortunately, the libs have such Trump hatred that they will do everything in their power to keep him in the spotlight so they can continue the drama!
Trump doesn’t value loyalty. He values ass-kissers. I don’t like him as a human being, but I like his ability to get stuff done. I will never defend his temper-tantrums. He’s perpetually butt-hurt over even the slightest perceived “non-slights”. The fact that he will throw any and everyone under the bus to save his ego and his fortune tells me exactly who he is – a psychopathic, genius, narcissistic, man-child.
But he’s still better than ANY Demoncrat.
IMHO, this is inexcusable behavior.
I’m going to defend him but not because I approve of the behavior but because he’s someone who’s being persecuted on every action and his very thin skin is likely causing him to perceive any “slight” as an attack even when it’s far more likely she just hadn’t seen the corrected numbers. Even then it’s very bad optically as he’s clearly showing he is not fit to lead any more.
