When you’re “high profile,” there’s a certain amount of garbage that you have to deal with. It just comes with being in the spotlight. You get haters, criticism, sycophants, and if you’re really lucky, you get your own parody account mocking you. Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has reached this point and she is not impressed. A parody account of ACO, which is called “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Press Release (parody),” is up to 145.6K followers as of the writing of this article, growing substantially in the last few days. The bio says that the page is “saying the quiet part out loud,” again emphasizing that it’s a “parody” page.
It’s fake, y’all. It’s not real. That’s what “parody” means. And yet, parody and satire are so close to reality these days that it’s hitting just a little too close to home for AOC. Mostly, they’re just straight mocking the things that people detest about her and I get why she doesn’t like that, especially when the account is becoming so popular. The especially funny thing is that some of these tweets from this parody account are basically saying the same things AOC actually says or does in politics, just without the careful narrative-crafting and political correctness. Quite literally saying the quiet part out loud. Below is a great example. She doesn’t seem to know anything about guns but is desperate to “ban” them–except for when she’s wastefully sending billions of taxpayer dollars-worth of them over to Ukraine to fight an endless proxy war with Russia. She’d never say all that in that way because she’s in politics, but the parody account strikes terrifyingly close to home.
An AR-15 can shoot over 10,000 rounds per second and hold up to 1,000 round clips.

It’s time to ban these weapons of war – except for in Ukraine.
Anyway, she decided that rather than ignoring the parody account, she would draw attention to it by informing the public about it. She assures the public that she’s “assessing with my team how to move forward” and hilariously warns the public that “in the meantime, be careful of what you see.” You know, like fake accounts and fake border wall photo ops and whatnot…
FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility.

It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread.
I am assessing with my team how to move forward. In the meantime, be careful of what you see.
