I know Disney has become a bit of a hot-button issue in the conservative realm. It’s hard for me to totally hate them, though. I have so many family memories there. It was my older sister’s favorite place to be. She went there when she was two as part of her “Dreams Come True” vacation before losing her battle with leukemia. We’ve made it a family tradition to go there, to her favorite place, to spend her special days together as a family.
So… while it’s difficult for me, personally, to totally write them off and swear to never give them another dime… I also see what a pack of tone deaf, virtue-signaling dipsh*ts they are. It’s obvious that they’ve been taking a few L’s lately, but this one comes as the least surprising to me…
From the Daily Wire:
Disney World announced it is shutting down an immersive Star Wars luxury hotel that opened in March 2022.
“We are so proud of all of the Cast Members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life and look forward to delivering an excellent experience for Guests during the remaining voyages over the coming months,” Disney said in a statement, per NPR on Friday. “Thank you to our Guests and fans for making this experience so special.”
The hotel is taking its last bookings September 28 to 30. New bookings are being paused until May 26 so guests who booked reservations after September can reschedule.
Billed as being the ultimate experience for Star Wars fans, the hotel featured a launch pod to board the Halcyon starcruiser upon arrival. Guests could stay in a room with a space view and interact with the Star Wars characters throughout the ship, aligning themselves with either the dark side or the light side.
One point of contention for visitors has been the hefty price tag. Per NPR, a two-night package started at about $4,800 for two people, and went up to $5,999 for three adults and one child. These prices included lodging, meals, and admission to Hollywood Studios, but did not include alcohol or specialty drinks.
It’s almost as if Disney’s so out of the loop that they’ve forgotten we’re all poor. Maybe if Captain Geriatric hadn’t lit the economy on fire, then more people would’ve been able to afford this rip off…
I mean… who wouldn’t wanna spend $6k on a hotel room for two nights? Especially when cosplayers and weird space food is involved! And alcohol costs extra?!?! Where do I sign??
That might’ve been the reaction that Disney was hoping for, but it wasn’t the one they got. Anyone who’s anyone could’ve seen that coming from a galaxy not so far away…
Whatever idiot came up with this was obviously ignoring the pay gap between your average, sinister, cisgender white man, and racial minorities, women, etc. It’s pretty obvious that rich white dudes are going to be the only ones that could/would pay for this. The moron(s) responsible for the idea should probably get canned along with the hotel if DEI actually means anything. Although… if the master plan was to rob your average white guy blind as restitution for the ethical crimes of his ancestors, then they probably deserve awards.
It’s all about perspective…

The demise of this hotel reminds me of the closure of an anti-capitalist restaurant after less than a year in business.
I can tell you as a middle class dude who has been a massive fan of Star Wars since I first saw it back in ’77 after waiting through two showings in a line that wrapped around the theater, even though I could afford it, there is no way in Hades I was ever going to go to that horror show mockery of a formerly iconic universe.
Disney shat all over us original fans ever since they took ownership, and they enjoy doing it. Somehow the idiots in charge there are incapable of figuring out that catering to a tiny minority that doesn’t spend enough money on their now ridiculous product doesn’t produce profits, and constantly ticking off those of us who previously loved Disney for ages, that have a degree of discretionary income, is acceptable to their bottom line when we’d like to hand them our money but won’t because they like to shat all over us with utterly disgusting and horrific agenda based “creations”.
It’s as if they are deliberately obtuse and/or have an agenda to push that involves the masses being forced over a cliff with them standing above looking down at the pile below.
