I’ll preface this post by making it known that I think having “history months” is a waste of time. I think we should prioritize learning as much history as possible, at every possible opportunity. If the intent is to excite kids… it obviously isn’t working. Let’s just cut the crap and get back to the basics.
All that to say… women’s history month doesn’t excite me. However, maybe it might if it was used to promote… you know… actual women.
But, alas… ESPN thought this would be the *perfect* opportunity to remind everyone, once again, that Lia Thomas is a… being… that leeches off real women at every possible opportunity.
Ok, ok… they didn’t say that… I did.
From Fox News:
ESPN on Sunday honored former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas as part of a “Celebrating Women’s History Month” segment.
The segment brought up Thomas’ transition from male to female, her win at the NCAA Championships and competing amid criticism from the swimming world.
“People will say, ‘Oh, she just transitioned so she would have an advantage so she could win.’ I transitioned to be happy,” Thomas says in the segment.
Thomas’ participation in NCAA women’s swimming during the 2021-22 season sparked a growing debate over the fairness of transgender women competing against biological females. She became the first transgender woman to win an Ivy League Championship and later an NCAA Championship in the 500 free.

At this point, it’s not even the pandering of groups like ESPN that irk me. It’s the fact that as a society, we’ve largely come to the consensus that this is really wrong, yet we’re still largely playing along. Most people will never admit what they really think for fear of being the mob’s next victim, but, perhaps, it’s finally starting to dawn on enough people that this is hurting real women more than it helps fake ones. Just a few days ago, the ruling came down that transgender athletes will be barred from competing in international track and field events.
It’s so rare when something happens that makes sense these days…
There are obvious biological differences that hurt the real women that train their a$$es off to get to competition-level physical fitness. If trans athletes want to play sports, let’s create some trans categories. If that’s not good enough for them, then it’s all the more obvious that this was never about sports in the first place.
To make matters worse, the “trans women in sports” issue usually involves men who were sh*tty in their own categories.
This isn’t really an issue that trans men are vocal about either. Why? Probably because they’re women competing with men, and they never had a shot in hell anyway.
ESPN can go screw themselves.

Liberals like to talk about the “glass ceiling” for women’s advancement. The new self-imposed glass ceiling in women’s sports is the biological man (or men) in the competition. They will hold the top spots on the team and in the record books. Congrats!
These are not mutually exclusive statements. Winning is easily what makes Lia happy.

Or compete in the already established division that is open to everyone already (except in Texas oddly and maybe a few other places), the “Men’s” division. If Sara wants to try to wrestle in the “Men’s”, nobody cares. It happened in my school a few decades ago, nobody batted an eye.
The more I dig into “gender” the greater the correlation I find it has with a deliberate misunderstanding of just about everything. That sports isn’t really divided up into Men’s and Women’s but we just labeled it that way because it was easier since the Women’s division was meant to exclude men is just one of the simplest examples.
