In a press briefing this morning, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs John Kirby fielded a few questions. He explained that “President Biden has been, uh, nothing but consistent, uh, about his, uh, belief, foundational belief in human rights, and LGBTQ+ rights are human rights… that’s a core part of our foreign policy, and it will remain so.”He explains that it’s about defending people’s rights to “live as they deem fit, as they want to live.”

I have a feeling that Russia and China are very excited that LGBTQ+ rights are a core part of America’s foreign policy because it diminishes our power by drawing our attention and funding to radical woke agendas rather than to protecting against real threats. If we’re focusing on diversity and equity quotas in our military or in other countries, then we’re not focusing on training, force readiness, strategy, etc. I am curious, though–what if the way people “deem fit” to live is directly contrary to the Biden Administration’s LGBTQ+ agenda? Will they defend their right to live like that? Or do they only defend people’s right to live as they “deem fit” if it’s LGBTQ+ inclusive?

I’ve not seen any sort of DEI “quotas” in the small part of the military that I’m in.
Surely Kirby praised Trump’s efforts during that press conference, right?
