Ousted Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Claims Racism, Gender Discrimination Lost Her The Election

Not one single person is surprised to hear that ousted Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is blaming her election loss on racism and gender discrimination. Riiiiight. It couldn’t possibly be the fact that she’s allowed Chicago to be come a hellhole more dangerous than the war zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. Couldn’t possibly be that she tried to blame street vendors for letting themselves get robbed on the streets of Chicago. Couldn’t possibly be that she flagrantly disregarded her own ridiculous COVID rules and routinely holds herself above the deplorable masses she supposedly “serves.” If she lost, it must be because “I am a black woman” and “certain folks, frankly, don’t support us in leadership roles.” Racism. Of course. Because why take responsibility for your abject failure when you could just blame racism?

Yesterday, Lightfoot was ousted from the runoff election in April when she came in 3rd place with only 16.44% of the vote, very far behind Paul Vallas (35.04% of the vote) and Brandon Johnson (20.30% of the vote). Vallas got more than twice as many votes as Lightfoot. But let’s all take a moment to remember that this would have been her re-election, meaning she was elected before by these same voters. And her skin color and gender haven’t changed since the last time those same voters elected her to the position. The only thing that changed was that she proved herself to be an abject failure. But let’s be honest–her super cringey TikToks will be missed by everyone who isn’t a Chicago taxpayer or constituent.
