If you don’t think that this is absolutely positively going to happen here, you are living in a world of denial. I hate to be the harbinger of doom, but ask Daisy how long I’ve been paranoid about our power grid. It’s been FOREVER. And more and more you’re starting to see problems like this:
The blackout was caused by an energy saving program by the government that backfired.

Imagine that.https://t.co/LpEktPGnzM
According to that AP link, the government in Pakistan was trying some “energy-saving measure” that completely backfired, plunging the ENTIRE COUNTRY into powerless darkness. During “low usage” hours overnight, the government decided to turn off electricity altogether to conserve fuel. They were easily able to turn it all off, but turning it back on again? Not so much.
No biggie just one of my all-time greatest fears. It’s fine.
To be fair, things actually SHOULD be fine within the next 24 hours, and possibly even the next 12 – according to the same article. But this all feels very very test-runny to me, if you know what I mean. Kinda like our entire airline industry being forced offline for a few hours a couple weeks ago due to some “mistakenly deleted files.”
If I sound paranoid, I don’t even care. WEF is already planning predicting a super cyber attack that will cause the whole world to be hurled into complete chaos. I mean, things are massively borked, y’all.
Pakistan, according to the AP, currently gets 60% of its electricity from fossil fuels, around 30 percent from hydropower, and the rest is a combo of nuclear and solar. They are hurting BADLY economically right now, and have already taken to closing malls and markets by 8.30pm every evening to conserve energy.
The government has that power, you see. As does ours.
Sweet dreams, everyone!

“….closing malls and markets by 8.30pm every evening to conserve energy”. You know what happens at 830pm? The sun goes down every day and those solar panels aren’t going to give you diddly-squat for electricity. Get used to your power being off… frequently.
