The Intolerant Left Lashes Out At NHL Player Ivan Provorov For Not Wearing Gay Pride Warmup Jersey

Once upon a time, the left was considered the party of tolerance and compassion. But in recent years, we’ve realized that they are only tolerant and compassionate toward people who serve their agenda or agree with them. Everyone else is the enemy. Today, NHL player Ivan Provorov of the Philadelphia Flyers is the enemy. Apparently, the National Hockey League decided they were going to have players wear rainbow jerseys during warmups for a gay pride celebration. Provorov refused to do so.

Speaking to press afterward, he succinctly explained that his choice was based on his Russian Orthodox Christian faith. He said he respects everyone and their individual choices, and this was his choice. But he hasn’t been given the same respect.

The Left basically lost their minds. How DARE he make a choice with which they disagree! A Canadian “journalist” was almost brought to tears over Provorov’s choice, ranting for three minutes about how he shouldn’t be allowed to make that faith-based choice because it might hurt the feelings of someone else.

An analyst on the NHL Network went so far as to say Provorov should go back to Russia and fight in the Ukrainian war. Seriously, that’s outrageous even for the intolerant left. I mean, I’d expect activists on TikTok to say that, but an actual NHL television network analyst? Yikes. Can you even imagine him saying these kind of things if he was African or Muslim?

The Left is extra mad that he hasn’t suffered professional repercussions for his faith-based choice, as his coach allowed him to play even after his refusal. They want him punished for his choice because allowing him to make a choice they don’t like and then letting him go without suffering serious consequences sets a precedent that people can make choices the Left doesn’t like and don’t have to suffer consequences. And they simply can’t allow that precedent to be set.

As a devout Christian myself, I’ll end this by saying that Christ loved all people, and so should we. But loving all people does not mean you have to condone or actively support all behaviors by all people. While I know that Christ loved every person, I also know he would not have symbolically or literally flown a flag supporting behaviors he knew to be contrary to His gospel. You can love and respect everyone without agreeing with, condoning, or supporting their decisions. It’s even possible to love everyone and fight against things you believe to be wrong.
