This really is one of the most bizarre and hypocritical arguments I’ve ever heard on the abortion subject. There is a new bill that JUST passed in the House of Representatives (we’ll see if it still ends up being the House of Proxy Votes) about “medical care after abortion procedure.” One of the items in the bill requires that babies born alive during an abortion procedure must be taken directly to the hospital for medical care.
But Representatives Nadler and Schakowsky have a little something to say about that. They argued before the entire House that this provision actually “endangers some infants,” and that it “could be detrimental to the life of that baby.” You know, THE BABY THAT THEY’RE ARGUING SHOULD INSTEAD BE LEFT ON THE COLD METAL TABLE TO DIE BECAUSE THE ABORTION DIDN’T KILL THEM. They’re actually saying that if you went in there to kill your baby and it didn’t actually die, then requiring that baby to be taken straight to the hospital for medical care is DANGEROUS for that baby? THAT’S what they’re arguing is dangerous to the life of that baby? The drive to a hospital for medical care?
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL): "[The bill] requires immediately taking a struggling baby to a hospital. That hospital could be hours away and could be detrimental to the life of that baby." pic.twitter.com/gsw9atN06u

Seriously, I’m confused. Because the fact of the matter is that the alternative to taking the baby straight to the hospital for medical care, as stipulated in this bill, is that the abortionist literally just leaves the live baby laying in a medical tray to slowly die there following the failed abortion procedure. That’s actually what they do. That happens in real life. So these Democrats are arguing that we can’t pass a bill that has a provision that might endanger a baby’s life, but instead, that baby should simply be left to die in the abortionist’s office. So much less dangerous to that baby’s life, right?

It’s a stupid argument but I understand what they are trying to say. They are saying that taking the kid to the hospital, instead of providing care at the abortion facility, could be more dangerous since during the drive, the kid could be getting zero care.
