Elon loves his polls. š
Should Congress approve the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill?
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 20, 2022
As of this writing, there are 10 hours left to vote in the poll. Here’s a screenshot of what the results look like at this very moment.

That there are Actual People who think this should pass is just MIND BLOWING to me. WTF is wrong with people?
Elon weighed in with his own thoughts as well.
Guaranteed, not one person voting for it has read the whole thing. If we added that basic requirement, legislation would improve dramatically in favor of the people.

Iām in favor of a small spending bill to keep things running, but common sense suggests that it be the least amount required through the holidays.

Railroading through a giant spending bill that almost no one has read is unlikely to be in the best interests of the people.
Some congressional members are appropriately outraged:
We have to stop the omnibus! https://t.co/lv7bJBkQjz

You know what’s in this thing? MILLIONS of OUR DOLLARS for the border security of OTHER COUNTRIES – like Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, and Lebanon. MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for the FBI to continue to be corrupt and rotten to the core. This abomination also pays for flights for illegals. It pays millions for the January 6th committee’s work. The IRS gets another $8 BILLION. It includes $200 MILLION for a gender equity program in PAKISTAN. And Republican senators voted for this.
Senate agreed to the motion to proceed to the omnibus 70-25.

Honestly we need people who want to reform the way Congress works so that it’s not a job people truly want to do but do so out of a sense of duty.
Or perhaps make it mandatory like jury duty. Not sure how that would play out but it can’t be much worse than what we have now.
I hope this doesn’t pass.
But sadly, we all know it will.
