I found this great summary from Benjamin Carlson of the ENTIRETY of the Twitter Files drop to date, and thought it was worth sharing with y’all!
1. History changed because of this:
— Benjamin Carlson (@bfcarlson) December 19, 2022
•Hunter Biden's alleged corruption censored
•Covid 19 lockdown debate stifled
•Trump silenced
You may agree with each decision. But there is no denying that halting information flow and free debate had real consequences.
3. Censorship is being cloaked in the language of safety:
— Benjamin Carlson (@bfcarlson) December 19, 2022
• 'Safety, harm, violence' redefined to apply to ideas
• Opinions & info deemed 'unsafe' subject to silencing
• Jokes, memes, questions about origin of covid off limits
5. Social media executives lie freely:
— Benjamin Carlson (@bfcarlson) December 19, 2022
•Twitter execs repeatedly and publicly denied shadow bans
•In reality, bans were in place as "visibility filtering"
•Ultimately, no accountability to public
7. The slippery slope is real:
— Benjamin Carlson (@bfcarlson) December 19, 2022
•Staff rebellion led to Trump ban
•Staff called for more covid-19 censorship
•2021-22 saw increase of bans and 'one-offs'
This is how you get Billy Baldwin in the crosshairs.
Once you silence a president, who has a right to speak?
TLDR
— Benjamin Carlson (@bfcarlson) December 19, 2022
1. History changed
2. Conspiracy theories true
3. 'Safety' = censorship
4. Government policed ideas
5. Executives lied
6. Speech controlled by small group
7. Slippery slope is real
8. Musk must watch out
You may or may not agree with every part of Benjamin’s analysis – but in my view it’s well thought out and it highlights the main outcomes of what we’ve all been subjected to for the past several years. Free speech has been stifled in the name of “safety” which has become a completely bastardized term.
The slippery slope is real.
The one main benefit of the Twitter Files is the transparency we’re all getting in how this has happened. At least now there’s daylight on the methods used by our own government agencies to silence us and prevent us from seeing the truth.

I agree with Benjamin’s analysis. I would like to add one more point. Even some of those who tried to do what they thought was right and follow all the social media rules, were still banned just because they had conservative views. It shows that even if you have the Neville Chamberlan (Adam Kinzinger) complex when dealing with tyrants, they will still seek to destroy you the first chance they get. Compromise is never the answer with a tyrant. It is better to stick to your principals and fight back as hard as you can.
Yeah. I think Benjamin is exactly right.
