The first Avatar movie was basically a tree-hugger inclusivity love fest with bad graphics and really bad acting. It weirdly made a ton of money despite being generally disliked by the public. And they made a second one, again directed by James Cameron who has gone full woke. He recently explained his belief that testosterone is a “toxin” that “poisoned” him and which people should “work out of your system,” which exemplifies how woke Leftist he’s become since his ‘Terminator’ days. So you KNOW his wokeism is interwoven into the entirety of the new Avatar movie, likely more than even the 1st movie. But it’s simply not woke enough for radical woke Leftists. That’s the thing about radical woke Leftism– nothing you ever do is enough.
Check out this interesting critique of the new Avatar movie’s “cultural appropriation” by a leftist film critic.
At some point we gotta talk about the cultural appropriation of Avatar and white actors are cos playing as poc. Itβs just a mess and so not necessary & no amount of visual effects/CGI is gonna erase that. Bad Lace fronts/Dry synthetic braids. Jesus fix it pic.twitter.com/VcNkSlvRTp

She’s saying it’s “cultural appropriation” that “white actors are cos playing as poc” when they play the imaginary 9 foot tall, blue-skinned, pretend magical creatures in the made-up movie. Again, they’re imaginary 9 foot tall, blue skinned, pretend magical creatures. It shouldn’t matter who plays them or what their costume looks like because they’re completely fake and imaginary.
In fact, that’s the exact argument that Leftists made when some people weren’t excited about having Halle Bailey play Ariel in the upcoming live action Little Mermaid. Some didn’t appreciate changing the bright red-haired, fair-skinned mermaid to one with dark skin and locs. And Leftists argued that it was absurd to care about that because mermaids aren’t real anyway so it shouldn’t matter who played them or how they are made to look.
And therein lies the hypocrisy. They mock and disparage others for not appreciating the actor and costume choices of an imaginary creature in a made-up movie, and then turn around and whine about the actor and costume choices of an imaginary creature in a made-up movie. They can’t have it both ways. Either it’s fine to criticize the actor and costume choices of imaginary creatures in made-up movies, or it isn’t. But you can’t pick and choose based on how the actor and costume choices fit into your woke Leftist ideology.

I’ve often said that being woke means being racist towards white people. It’s so stupid.
If the movie is about Native American culture then why are any other “poc” not also engaging in same said cultural appropriation?
Sadly the only rule of their game is “white people are bad guys” nothing else has to make sense, let alone be consistent.
