During a hearing regarding Anti-LGBTQ violence, Rep Katie Porter stated, “The groomer narrative is an age-old lie to position LGBTQ+ people as a threat to kids.” She then went on to say, “This allegation of ‘groomer’ and ‘pedophile,’ it is alleging that a person is criminal somehow, and engaged in criminal acts merely because of their identity.” They are criminals, because PEDOPHELIA IS A CRIME.
She is absolutely infuriating! What’s worse is the fact that she says things like this, out loud, and people actually vote for her! And, we pay this woman’s salary.
Another woman stated in the hearing that, “when we use phrases and words like ‘groomers’ and ‘pedophiles’ to describe people, individuals in our communities that are mothers, that are fathers, that are teachers, that are doctors it is dangerous, and it’s got one purpose. It is to dehumanize us and make us feel like we are not a part of this American society.” I have a thought, maybe stop trying to groom children and we won’t call you a pedophile. I know, that’s insane of me to even think such a thing.
I tried to watch more of the hearing, but I was so disgusted I couldn’t watch any more than the approximate 4 minutes that I watched. This constant push to decriminalize grooming children and normalize pedophilia is utterly repulsive.

But I bet she thinks spanking a child is a crime and not an “identity”. Like MikeLemon said, these people believe that if you have these impulses then that’s “who you are”, and that’s your “identity”, so therefore somehow that makes it all ok.

No it isn’t. Pedophilia is the impulse, acting on that impulse is the crime (and firing squad should be the punishment).

No, it is alleging that person is a disgusting pervert that should be watched like a hawk and shouldn’t be allowed to continue being around kids.
What I find interesting is how Porter thinks “groomer” and “pedophile” are synonyms for “gay”. It says a lot about her.
Exactly! They are trying SO HARD to make it seem like the right is making “groomer” and “pedophile” synonymous for “gay” to make it seem like those that don’t agree with pedophilia are just anti-gay. They are trying so hard to make those of us that think grooming kids is wrong (BECAUSE IT IS) are the evil ones and encouraging hate and violence. It’s insanity.
