Saw this gem of an article today and thought a few things to myself. Some of those thoughts were wildly inappropriate, of course, so I’ll keep those to myself. But one of those thoughts was “Self, it’s interesting to me how these jackholes can find time to complete a whole freaking study on how the unvaccinated get in more CAR ACCIDENTS than the vaccinated, yet they still don’t have comprehensive adverse event, serious adverse event and death summary data related to all Covid vaccines.”
Priorities. You know.
By all means, though, I do enjoy a scientific study on how the Covid-unvaxxed get in more car crashes for a giggle (insert eyeroll here). After all, it’s SUPER important for the “freedom-believing,” unvaxxed people to understand how they’re apparently more likely to be at risk on our roads than our brethren of presumed higher intelligence (who are obviously vaxxed).
…a new study published this month in The American Journal of Medicine. During the summer of 2021, Canadian researchers examined the encrypted government-held records of more than 11 million adults, 16% of whom hadn’t received the COVID vaccine.
They found that the unvaccinated people were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crash—in which at least one person was transported to the hospital—than those who were vaccinated. That’s similar to the increased risk of car crashes for people with sleep apnea, though only about half that of people who abuse alcohol, researchers found.
No worries, though. Just because you’re a reckless unvaxxed person doesn’t mean you’re going to automatically die in a fiery car crash, you toothless redneck. Erin Prater, the writer of that article (who also describes herself as a “Medical Writer” on LinkedIn, and YIKES), seemingly wanted you to quickly jump to that clickbait-worthy headline of hers. To her credit, she generously included this lovely disclaimer for those slack-jawed unvaxxed yokels to put their tiny brains at ease:
Of course, skipping a COVID vaccine does not mean that someone will get into a car crash. Instead, the authors theorize that people who resist public health recommendations might also “neglect basic road safety guidelines.”
Well, thank GOD for that clarification, seeing as how the title of this summary article was so sensationalized and all.
Speaking of God, the unvaxxed are said to ignore the rules of the road because of their “faith in natural protection.” According to this groundbreaking study, the unvaxxed also have a “distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, and antipathy toward regulation.” The authors point to “poverty, misinformation, a lack of resources, and personal beliefs as potential reasons for being unvaxxed.”
To summarize, the unvaxxed are poor, stupid, patriotic people of faith, according to this ridiculous summary article based on the even more brain-numbing study. But the poor, stupid, patriotic people of faith? If I have the choice between them and some uptight, “intellectual,” America-and-God-hating assholes? I’m going to hang out ANY DAY with the former. The uptight, finger-pointing, holier-than-thou assholes will make me DRIVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, Erin. Talk about road rage, eh? And that’s probably why I live in small-town Texas.
Come to think of it, I HAVE been pulled over for speeding three times in the past six months, so there may be something to the whole risk-inclined part of this study, even if it is marinated in pure hate for a group of people who have chosen to exercise their God-given, American freedom – especially with drugs based on compassionate use protocols as opposed to long-term studies.
Good to know that a “reputable” medical journal is spending its time doing bullcrap “studies” like this when Actual Data has yet to be compiled. That should really help to restore lost faith in our medical institutions.
SCIENCE! Or, shall I say, “FAUCI!”
Update on 12/15/22, because the world just keeps getting dumber and dumber:
So @CTVNews actually put that ridiculous study linking unvaccinated to more traffic accidents on the news. The guy who did the study is featured, at the end he wonders if insurance companies should give 5% discounts for drivers with proof of vax. I can’t believe this is real life pic.twitter.com/3JwY8gMeW7

While the writer sounds like a hateful idiot, there may be something to the headline. Hear me out.
Pure speculation- Since not-city people are more likely to have a “distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, and antipathy toward regulation,” (and therefore, not to have fallen for the fear porn) and since not-city people are more likely to be driving at a speed that would cause “at least one person was transported to the hospital” from a crash (or be more likely to drive at all), it follows that they would have more serious accidents (per capita).
Spoiler alert: There was a very high correlation between both groups and young men.
The article, and possibly the study itself, is pure drivel trying to hide under the guise of “science” to justify their own decisions instead of properly studying phenomena to find the cause.
“Come to think of it, I HAVE been pulled over for speeding three times in the past six months . . .”
You just remembered? LOL Did you get a ticket?
My wife who is 64 years old got her first (traffic) speeding ticket this fall. Seems 45 in a 25 is a bit much for the local cops. I was in the passenger seat laughing my a– off at the situation. Needless to say, when we got home, I grabbed a pillow and blanket and went and slept on the coach on my stomach, again.
My wife was upset because when she was younger, they would let her off with a warning and an offer for a date. LOL
The reason the vaccinated do not get into as many traffic accidents is because they die soon after getting the jab, are too sick to drive, don’t work so they have fewer places to go, or they are in the hospital. Plus, I imagine a lot of them are not intelligent enough to pass a driver’s license examination.
So ice cream causes shark attacks?
Yes it does in particular mint chocolate chip is the worst LMAO
Yeah. I seriously doubt this is actually true.
